Plus your running at 1920x1080..
So you recommend getting an i5 rather than the i7?
So you recommend getting an i5 rather than the i7?
I think they're cheaper without a lot of performance loss IIRC
I would. A lot of people would recommend it. also, looks like a lot of members on ocn got to 4GHz.
Yes, you can get to 4.0 stable. I've gotten mine to 4.0 at 1.38V, 12 hours prime no errors. I was able to get up to 4.3, but couldn't get it 100% stable. I'm an intel newb, so I'm sure theres room for even more tweaking. I've seen most people getting this to 4.0-4.2 on air cooling.
you might be in for a treat :P [editline]06:27PM[/editline] brb, slapping in my 275 (still in my 860 system) edit: nvm I'm too lazy, don't want to uninstall nvidia drivers, install ati drivers.. ugh god thelist goes on
http://www.engadget.com/2009/09/22/intel-announces-22nm-chips-for-2011/ no 22nm
Never mess with the edwards and his hardware news. EVER
I think they're cheaper without a lot of performance loss IIRC
same or slightly better performance for much less. [editline]01:18AM[/editline] and before someone suggests it no, the socket is not a reason to choose i7 over i5
860 is where it's at niggas.
860 is where it's at niggas.
uh huh, HT is the only difference between the core i5 and the i7 860. Yeah, lets spend 90 dollars just for 4 more threads. troll?
No, someone who does more than just play games on his computer. You don't know what kind of nice it is to have those extra four threads when you're rendering 300,000 polygons per scene.
yeah, but I was generalizing. It helps a hella lot when rendering terragen 2 scenes.
The only wrong thing that I can see is that you bought an ATI card to go with a mobo from a purely nVidia manufacturer.
The only wrong thing that I can see is that you bought an ATI card to go with a mobo from a purely nVidia manufacturer.
Yeah, don't give advice here until you learn something.
The only wrong thing that I can see is that you bought an ATI card to go with a mobo from a purely nVidia manufacturer.
The only manufacturer compatibility issues are CPU related unless you're doing SLI/Crossfire.
Never mess with the edwards and his hardware news. EVER
why do people say this... I am wrong a lot and right sometimes, bu when I am wrong like to see where I am wrong at, it helps me learn about technology .
Yeah, don't give advice here until you learn something.
I've never seen EVGA produce anything other than nVidia-based bards and boards. Just saying, if he wants a dual-card setup, he won't be able to do anything with ATI (from my experience).

I don't get what you're trying to say.
I'm saying I have the intelligence to look if it supports crossfire or not.
That motherboard is fucking beast.
EVGA makes great motheboards (especially now, x58,p55) Everybody on XS says the P55 FTW is the best motherboard they've used, I think the same here.
I had the P35 (I think 35) Platinum a while ago and it was the best motherboard I had ever bought.
EVGA nForce 780i SLI rockin da house.
evga always makes awesome mobos.
EVGA nForce 780i SLI rockin da house.
Hellz to the yeah. :respek:
lol uh huh P45 for lyfe bro
The only problem is the price and 1337 G4YM3R marketing.
I honestly don't pay attention to computer advertisements, they always seem to target the ten year old kids that make their parents alienware and hardcore computer. But the price of an EVGA mobo is usually worth it.
