I've almost never even seen ALAC files around the net, I believe the main reason why FLAC is so popular is because it's one of the few formats which are completely free (at least that what I heard from one of my sensors during my exam).
Just to jump on the Itunes discussion, I felt that it was sluggish and big on PC, but on the other hand it ran beautifully on my Mac, I guess it has something to do with the incorporated quicktime stuff in the mac or something like that.
Maybe they've fixed it on PC? I don't know. What I do know is when I got the hang of customizing Foobar to my liking It all went so smooth, with adding album-covers and tagging songs.
Anyways, I guess it all comes down to prefrence in the end.

guys, there are [url=http://www.xiph.org/quicktime/download.html]ways to get FLAC working in iTunes[/url]. And even if that doesn't work for some reason, I'm assuming ALAC sounds exactly identical to FLAC seeing as they're both lossless codecs.

so in short if your computer can handle running iTunes and doing whatever else you wanna do then I see no reason to stop you if that's what you really want to use

I managed to find this pretty easily (HINT: Google reverse image search, go to google.com, choose images and drag the pic to the window)

i see what the problem was, i set the resolution to exactly 3840x1080, so it didn't find this one (3840x1080)
Explain to me why I should be concerned about using FLAC when ALAC has the same exact quality and filesize, and I have no programs that support FLAC but not ALAC.
It fits my workflow.
