There aren't enough people here who see the value in having a standard desktop without silly fences and annoying statement backgrounds and just like a nice photo as a background? I don't see what's wrong with using the desktop as a temporary storage location, given that is what a desktop does in real life. It's like not having a perfectly clean and organized desktop here is a crime.

Fences is just an organizational tool. It has pages so when you're not using it it can go back to being 100% blank and empty, as it should be.

I sort of use my desktop as a workspace to keep files I currently need/will need in the near future
I clean it up every few weeks and turn desktop icons off if I'm taking a pic for this thread :v:

See, normally I don't bother with it if there aren't that many icons to begin with. I know I mentioned it this time, but with only a handful in the corner like he's got, me actively complaining about it is the exception instead of the rule.
It's when you coat the fucking thing in icons that's guaranteed to piss me off.

I still have that 100Gb partitioned, need to fix that
When I end up installing windows again, I'll probably move to windows 8, by that time I imagine most things I use will be sorted out.

Windows 8 has fixed all the network streaming issues I was having with 7 and before that vista. I also like the new task manager. I don't see it as a big improvement overall, but I like to think it was worth the cash.
I hate how it automatically logs into the last account used instead of bringing up the user choice menu though.

So I borrowed my buddy's license to WindowFX so I could try it out
It kept crashing my GPU drivers. (nVidia)
I fully accept the fact that I may be the exception and not the rule but I just thought I'd mention that.
