(also this is a fresh xp install on an older pc so there's like nothing on it)
you could at least turn off Windows Toybox
seriously, the "XP style" was the ugliest fucking UI I've ever had the misfortune to deal with

Oh come on, it wasn't that bad. It certainly wasn't professional in any capacity, though.
How'd I do

Taskbar is hidden, recycling bin is on screen but pushed off grid so I can pull it out when I need to.

Just a little fyi, here's a helpful little thing for recycle bins

I don't even use the recycle bin, if I'm deleting something I'm 100% sure I'm not going to need it again

Absolute essentials for Windows XP, I refuse to set up an XP machine without these installed.

I know, I'd rather not have to go into settings to keep turning it on and off though. The way I've got it set right now has the visible icon pushed right and the text pushed down, so the top left corner is still usable to drag things into and empty the recycling bin. Thanks for the advice though.

Alright the login screen isn't bad but honestly that theme isn't very good either. If you're going to use Windows XP, go Classic or go home

I always forgot where GCFScape was.
Now I don't have to remember.
Inspired by a friend of mine who had it has her TV background:

Does anyone know how to get rid of the 2px bar at the bottom if you have your taskbar set to auto hide? It bugs me :v:

Gotcha. Luckily I got myself into a habit of using most if not all of the buttons.
