I know i should post this in the general linux chat, but i think here it's a little bit better. I want my ->[B]linux[/B]<- desktop to be eye-candy, but without using compiz or too much resources, because, y'know, wine games happen. Any tips?

To have that i would have to go down a lot of tutorials, as i am pretty noobish on linux. Thanks for the help, but i'd better search for myself if that's the only way.

Takes about 5 million hours just to get the display working, and then I have terrible graphics performance after doing so. Won't be installing Linux again until the developers can show some love for AMD.

Their drivers aren't exactly top-notch quality.

A friend of mine has got a AMD CPU, i really don't remember which, but it was somewhat old, and could run puppy linux, ubuntu, and mint perfectly. Maybe it's only in the new CPUs.
