Originally X refused to see it as anything but one fucking huge monitor (a pain because really it's one monitor on two inputs). This was because I didn't have xinerama support in anything though so I fixed that (Gentoo, so pretty much put USE="xinerama" in /etc/make.conf and then `emerge -uDN world`), as well as go into the nVidia X settings and tell it to set as separate screens instead of the TwinView thing they have.
This worked except it broke OpenGL and my monitors are in the wrong order (it was using the VGA as primary, I wanted the DVI as primary). Being the smart cookie, I thought I could switch numbers around. Nope, because that just fucked shit up worse.

My problem is, when I install the shitty nvidia driver to make my 1080p screen work properly, xrandr decides to be an asshat and stop working.
I be usin' me netbook with t'C-60 processor, HD 6290 GPU, and I could not fer the life of me get it workin'.
I gave up on it in the end, t'was not worth the struggle and pain and sweat.

I haven't ever used a distro where multiple monitors didn't work flawlessly

Its a conversion package from the early 90s...theres tons of them out there...they're decals by the way. And it works just fine offroading...granted I'm not taking it on trail rides or anything but it fucks shit up in fields and the like
The decals also somewhat match my boat so that works nicely...

In my experience the nVidia driver has done well (as long as I stick to one monitor but details are for chumps)

Well that's weird. In the scrot the resolution is fine. But when I'm looking at the 1080p monitor itself it does not look like that, it looks fucking blurry.

Do you have a windows installation you could try it out on?
Could be something to do with the monitor itself, doubt it though.

It's actually a 1080p TV, it may aswell be a monitor though. The resolution works fine on windows.

Surprisingly they aren't. I was able to climb a pretty large dirt pile in a stock height suburban, was also able to keep up with lifted trucks and jeeps in it.
