Empty W8 desktop ahoy! I even have a good old start button and menu! I use Start8, it even lets me skip metro on boot. I have a second monitor plugged in too but it is even more empty. And yes, my windows account picture is a Wildebeest with a tophat and monocle. Don't ask.

To name a few: - Improved Boot Speed - Graphic Boot Manager - Options to clean up the OS, without a complete reformat - Support for Image-based Login - Support for Online, Synced User Accounts - New, Ribbon-based File Explorer - Improved File Copy Dialog - Improved Task Manager

Why on earth would I format my computer for a theme?

The rest of those things are UI improvements, do-able in Win7, or silly.
Ignore the OSK, I don't seem to have a print screen key.

Also have been using 8 as my main OS since shortly after consumer preview was released.
How is Windows 8 for games?
Ignore the OSK, I don't seem to have a print screen key.
Snipping tool is your friend.
Snipping tool is your friend.
I don't have time for fancy contraptions like that. OSK is much easier.
I don't have time for fancy contraptions like that. OSK is much easier.
But it is built in to windooowws. No need for OSK then.
Well it's two hours too late for that.
Just as good as 7. Although there are a few minor incompatibilities with one or two games.
It's faster for me.
Just as good as 7. Although there are a few minor incompatibilities with one or two games.
It works with everything except L.A. Noire. Also it seems to give me better performance in some games (Arma 2 in particular from ~40fps to ~60fps) [editline]24th October 2012[/editline] And have only crashed a couple of times, but those were AMD's fault.
Once Win8 gets the first service pack I'll probably move over. Any of the windows OS's seem to kick into high gear after SP1. Even Vista was good after SP1.

Not specifically Sp1, but my point is that at the point SP1 comes out, the OS is generally at a point of maturity and it's a benchmark where 80-90% of my tools and software are good to go.
hows this
Once Win8 gets the first service pack I'll probably move over. Any of the windows OS's seem to kick into high gear after SP1. Even Vista was good after SP1.
Windows 8 probably won't even get a service pack, and I don't think there will be a SP2 for 7 for that matter. From what I've heard Microsoft's moving away from the service pack model into something else.
what's the point of running linux if you're using Steam?
So you can tell all your steam friends you're using linux.
what's the point of running linux if you're using Steam?
You know, Steam isn't the only program in the world.

Otherwise you have to download all those updates separately.
