that fixed it still dont get why aac is on by default if it just breaks ffmpeg
It's because you used webm
[webm @ 000000000054c540] Only VP8 or VP9 video and Vorbis or Opus audio and WebVTT subtitles are supported for WebM.

webm was like the first choice it made lmao but w/e it fixed
default is x264 which does use aac [editline]15th October 2015[/editline] Jaex will read this and eventually pop in codec compatibility errors into the ffmpeg options form
In your developer window, there's two settings for remote debugging and browser toolbox (unsure what it's actually called, but they are right next to each other) You should then have the browser toolbox button in the developer menu of Firefox, which brings up the element browser for the xul interface [editline]15th October 2015[/editline] There will also be a window to allow a remote debugging session from your own ip
Thanks, that helped me figure out what it was. It turns out it was this option under the "Toolbars (2)" listing in Classic Theme Restorer that was doing it: Dunno how that even got ticked in the first place but simple fix. I wasn't even aware that was actually an option in CTR, lol. (Sorry for getting so off-topic in your thread Jaex!)
An excellent name and program my good sir.
An excellent name and program my good sir.
I liked your nickname.
I've used ShareX for a long long long time, It has made everything just so much better. Glad its finally getting the exposure it deserves
Kinda wish the screen recorder had the ability to follow your cursor around. Like you'd set an area to record and it'll follow your cursor either from the centre of the area or when the cursor hits the edge. From what I've seen this isn't a thing yet and I only know of one other program which does this, and it's codecs are limited to terrible ones.

Two questions 1) Is there a tutorial for setting up recording and converting to WebM for screen captures? Everything I've found seems to be old/possibly out of date because the UI is different. 2) Can ShareX upload to Sync.com?

I'm currently doing webm screen captures on version 10.4, supposedly up to date. Show me the supposedly outdated UI method and I can explain mine if it is different. Some of the Google Docs posted earlier in the thread I found on Google and they're over a year old at this point. What you posted helps. Thanks.
Is Facepunch forum not allows embedding mp4 (x264) videos?
ShareX can't upload to sync.com
Blah, a'ight. Thanks.

did windows 8 do some override trickery with the task manager? because i can no longer screencap the task manager itself, i have to start the selection outside - it stays on top of the "darkness"
did windows 8 do some override trickery with the task manager? because i can no longer screencap the task manager itself, i have to start the selection outside - it stays on top of the "darkness"
Windows task manager designed to stay top of majority of things (I don't know more technical info about how it manages that) even ShareX region capture window is top most window still it can't show top of task manager. Is any window can stay top of it?
did windows 8 do some override trickery with the task manager? because i can no longer screencap the task manager itself, i have to start the selection outside - it stays on top of the "darkness"
It's elevated
It's elevated
Even when you run ShareX as admin still not changes.
bu dum tss
If you want to capture only task manager window then using active window capture hotkey (alt + print screen) is easiest way.
Check this though [t]https://jii.moe/41ViejjHg.png[/t]
Check this though [t]https://jii.moe/41ViejjHg.png[/t]
I won't suggest unchecking that because then task manager can stay behind fullscreen not responding window and you can have trouble killing that process.
well it worked in 7 so something definitely changed for the better i guess, means that applications can't draw over it then also, on my 1920x1080 + 2560x1440 + 2048x1152 monitor setup, the dark overlay doesn't reach the far right part of the screen, there's about 50 pixels where other stuff shines through.. not very prominent however :v:

I never heard anyone having multi monitor issues for long time.
any idea what's wrong here? I've been using SFTP uploading for a while now, and now it just broke all of sudden. I haven't changed anything and my server is up. I'm no longer able to capture a full screen programme/window, it just captures the desktop (this is the case with all my hotkeys!) it was fine and now it's just not :(
I'm no longer able to capture a full screen programme/window, it just captures the desktop (this is the case with all my hotkeys!) it was fine and now it's just not :(
It is not possible to capture fullscreen game without using directx/opengl hook. Unless you make that game borderless fullscreen which means it is actually windowed.

I really wish there was a Linux version of ShareX. its literally the only thing I miss from running windows
