Every day? mate https://github.com/ShareX/ShareX/issues/1796 [t]https://jii.moe/EyAmcmfWM.png[/t]
Updates are too frequent for my liking (since I strictly only use the image uploader), Im just wondering if there is a way to auto update.
Updates are too frequent for my liking (since I strictly only use the image uploader), Im just wondering if there is a way to auto update.
Major updates are only once a month followed by one or two bugfixes
Optional auto updates would be nice though.
Here's the official statement on a auto update functionality though https://github.com/ShareX/ShareX/issues/1028#issuecomment-201516144
Appending to this matter Auto-update more or less exists when using the Steam Version
I am looking for a FREE program that can record just in-game sound ? Can this one do that, I don't need video, because recording a long video would fill up my hard disk, then I would need to convert it to sound, etc...
I am looking for a FREE program that can record just in-game sound ?
http://www.audacityteam.org/ That works fine.
just in-game sound?
I have to ask about this part though, no program will just record the sound of a specific application, it can not magically separate the game audio from voice or other sources. To only record game sound while still having other things going one you would need to setup Virtual Audio Cable to make a separate virtual audio device for the game to use exclusively. Then you can just record that virtual audio device with audacity. VAC handles the mixing so you can still hear game+other stuff in your headset.

Turning other stuff while the game is running is no problem. I will check out Audacity, I always thought you had to buy it.
ShareX can record only audio as mp3.
I have downloaded Audacity and it does the job. Probably better to use that since it is designed around sound, but good to know ShareX has the feature too.
Optional auto updates would be nice though.
Auto updates are incredibly dangerous in a lot of software just look at what happened to puush that isn't to say the ShareX devs are incompetent and would just let it happen carelessly, but any independent software developer could have a slip up and there would be no way they could have prevented it. Best to wait a bit, then update, what I do at least. [editline]17th November 2016[/editline] Hell even ?Mint? (linux) and audacity have stories of malware leaking into their uploads
I don't see how the difference between clicking a button and not having to affects the chance of an update containing malware. Linux mint had hijacked ISOs, which had to be downloaded and flashed manually. https://www.google.nl/amp/arstechnica.com/security/2016/02/linux-mint-hit-by-malware-infection
I don't see how the difference between clicking a button and not having to affects the chance of an update containing malware.
it doesn't change the chances of it containing malware but it changes the chances of you downloading it and unknowingly getting malware. For example in ShareX's case there's a link to the changelog in the update dialog. It's advisable to have a quick look over that before updating and if you have any suspicions about what's in the changelog you just click no.
I manually update from git :trumpet:
i haven't updated since some time in 2013 :toot: [editline]18th November 2016[/editline] okay nvm, just downloaded the latest
i haven't updated since some time in 2013 :toot: [editline]18th November 2016[/editline] okay nvm, just downloaded the latest
Why would you not update? The amount of great additions in the last updates is amazing. I will forever love the pre-capture edit options, so useful.
Why would you not update? The amount of great additions in the last updates is amazing. Because people using old version for years and missing all those new stuffs I was working on for years.
i dont know, it just had all the features i felt i wanted lol this is like a whole different program now. i'm gonna have to spend some time figuring it all out again
[t]https://jii.moe/Ey44GQuWM.png[/t]
Another handy trick is using mouse middle click to swap to rectangle drawing (previously used drawing tool) and then pressing it again to swap back to region capture. That way with single mouse button you can draw and annotate (if you are like me mainly using same annotate drawing tool).
Major updates are only once a month followed by one or two bugfixes
If this is the case then there must be some bug that isnt updating when I press the update button. Literally every time I turn on my pc I get the update window saying a new update is available, and I click it, it closes and I think its done.
yes, you've overlooked my post
But the thing is, I get the notification every single day when I turn on my pc, even after hitting the update button.
But the thing is, I get the notification every single day when I turn on my pc, even after hitting the update button.
you're not that smart are you?
But the thing is, I get the notification every single day when I turn on my pc, even after hitting the update button.
You should probably examine his post a little more thoroughly. There's kinda an important link you seem to be missing.
Sorry, I thought that link was to the picture, my bad.
Would anyone happen to know how to get Discord to stop telling people i'm 'playing' ShareX? [editline]26th November 2016[/editline] I know this is more pertaining towards Discord but I couldn't think of anywhere else to post this.
Discord user settings, games, scroll to ShareX and remove it with the button on the left of the name. Skyrim for example ( because I run sharex as a normal install ) [t]https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Kh5vb1M8-Yg/WDmQbF4D6TI/AAAAAAAAOx4/36vYCmtKhvU/s0/Discord_2016-11-26_14-38-52.png[/t]
