WinRAR is much better than 7zip, in terms of user interface, as a macfag would say, 'it just works'
You guys actually use the interface? I find it so slow and cumbersome. I just right-click Extract / Add to archive every single time I use 7zip. I don't actually remember what the 7zip GUI looks like, because the context menu is faster and more convenient.

I prefer to actually see what's inside the archive before extracting

It's been a while, old friend.
(In reference to the fact that I, too, have not seen the UI for 7zip in over a year due to increased if not entire use of context menus.)
Quick, someone create an autorun virus and 7zip it and send it to these guys. That will teach them to extract without seeing what they are extracting.

Autorun virus, wut

Eh, I usually know what I'm downloading and I make sure to extract to a directory rather than "Extract here".

I'm not sure if you're joking, but that will never work unless you somehow exploit something in 7zip/WinRAR that triggers some code that ISN'T run when you open the GUI, which is unlikely.
Some people like it to have a "OHH shiny!!" GUI, while some prefer a minimalistic one that gets the job done as simple and as fast as possible.
I just choose the one that makes the smallest files possible; 7zip.

I don't do that because most of the time instead of extracting to a folder, I just run it right from the archive. No need to later delete the folder I extracted
I love how slowly WinRAR gets updated, yet it's the best in terms of speed/compression, well not exactly, 7-zip gets better results with the 7z format, but that's the only one.
