My domain came online in like 1 minute, thanks bro!
We just started offering .info, .co.uk, and .tv TLDs. You can also now control various aspects of your domain from your client area. :neckbeard:
Nice to see you guys expanding so quickly.

I also now have a blog! http://jwj.tv/ :neckbeard:
Although the bad news is one of our voice server VPSes is down and it won't come back up. :saddowns:
After seeing a very large rate of progression and due to the fact that most if not all of our client base is made up of gamers, I've decided to officially start moving Brohoster into the GSP market. We're developing our own in-house game/server control panel so we can host servers on Linux and have it integrate directly into our billing system. We have a surprise in store that will separate us largely from other GSPs, something that will benefit primarily server load times. Your server won't take 30 seconds to change maps anymore; that's all I'm saying for now. :science:
You can expect us to be hosting Team Fortress 2 and Counter-Strike Source servers beginning around mid-July with the always low Brohoster price of $1.00/slot. We're going to start off with a location in Atlanta and then expand from there. We'll most likely be needing some real servers to beta test our control panel in about one week, so if you're interested, we'll host your server for free for the beta testing period if we decide to host you. We're only interested in existing servers that get traffic, no empty-all-day servers please.
If anyone has any suggestions for the control panel that you'd like to be able to have as a user, please do mention it. :buddy:
just wondering, how many of your clients are from facepunch? (percentage of total)
just wondering, how many of your clients are from facepunch? (percentage of total)
If I base it off of the number of times an FP promotional has been used on an order and the total number of orders, 66%.
I'm thinking about hosting a forums for the game Men of war. I've got a clan and I know maybe fp might use it. Don't know how or if I should do it.
I'd probably shit it up with my millions of map pictures :v:
I need to stop reading this thread. Keep getting tempted to buy my own site all the time. But I have to learn html well enough before that. So much to do and so little time!
And the gameservers sound great.

Brohoster is going to be opening our Cloud VPS service within the next few hours. Stay tuned. :buddy:

What Operating Systems are available for it?
Cloud VPS is now online. We've also created a new products page on the frontpage. :science:
Hopefully I wake up to some orders, but I doubt it. :ohdear:

At the moment I have CentOS images configured, but I can add Debian images as well if people would like.

It's like back in the good old DOS days :haw:
That's about all you need for a server. TBH.
[editline]04:45PM[/editline]
(It's not like you need a dedicated server that calculates string permutations and hash equivalents like I have mine doing. :v:)

That's per node. If you have 5 nodes, your VPS has 3ghz of processing power.

Awesome, I think I'll switch my hosting to a VPS.
Would I just cancel my current hosting, and then buy the VPS?
Also, on the order page. What is the difference between plain CentOS, and the LAMP, secured, and secured LAMP?
I'm guessing the LAMP ones come with Apache/MySQL/PHP preconfigured, but what is this secured stuff? :v:
That's per node. If you have 5 nodes, your VPS has 3ghz of processing power.
.6 mhz x5 = 3.0 mhz =/= ghz
Just thought of another question since I don't have any experience with VPSs.
What ports are forwarded to the VPS? If I want to, can I run a custom server app that listens on some arbitrary port?
wow, fanaticalvps is cheaper with the vpss' than you mate.

Aww shit son, that might be able to play Pong :haw:

Might wanna replace mhz with ghz then.
This is really a great fucking idea.
Even without ordering I felt like a bro being on the website.

Oh derp, I wasn't reading the m. Fixed.

So what? There's always someone cheaper. You get what you pay for. Fizzadar (owner of Fanatical) and I are bros too.

The secured part means that the image is a lot more secure, with stuff such as iptables and sulinux preconfigured. Sometimes people don't want this because they don't know what exactly has been done to the image in terms of what is and isn't allowed.

It's a server with an IP. There is no 'port forwarding', you can do whatever the hell you want with it as long as it's not illegal.

:eng99:
I've been using Brohoster for almost a month now. Great hosting, thus far.
:eng99:
Chill out bro, I've never used a VPS before.
I just thought that since vps's are VMs running on a host machine I'd have to deal with the host firewalls.
I went ahead and bought the VPS and it's pretty rad. :buddy:
Hahahaha, listen to this voicemail I got on our Skype.
