This is not Windows. Windows is designed to be user-friendly. Linux is for those who know what they are doing and don't need executable scripts to do it for them. Learn the workings of your system if you are going to stick to Linux.
no that's not why linux was created you dumb cunt it wasn't created to be some "exclusive club" that all you neckbeards can circle jerk over, it was created as an open source alternative to Unix and if you think the open source movement is about being an elitist moron then you are dead wrong

I didn't say it was some exclusive club. I'm saying it's not something you should use for the hell of it if you have gripes with its major features and want all the little conveniences of Windows. You're an idiot for thinking I'm being elitist. Calm down.
You were directly ripping on Windows users. Hence, elitism.
obviously you didn't explicitly say those things but they were heavily implied in your wording
No. You're making huge assumptions about me and you're wrong.
No. You're making huge assumptions about me and you're wrong.
I'd say he's right. Maybe you don't specifically intend it, but it's very elitist in tone and wording.
I'd say he's right. Maybe you don't specifically intend it, but it's very elitist in tone and wording.
So telling him that he won't find everything in simple little .exe's and that he's going to have to type some commands, makes me an elitist? It's the truth. I don't think I'm better than anyone for using Linux, but when you use it expecting it to be as straightforward as Windows you need to reconsider whether it's worth using. And if you decide that it is, you'll need to learn about how everything works to be able to use it to its full extent. How is that elitist?
Linux is for those who know what they are doing and don't need executable scripts to do it for them.
That's implying that you think you're better than Windows users. You also were very defensive when accused of an eletist attitude. While being defensive doesn't prove anything, it definitely doesn't help your case. Also, u mad?

Also, u mad?
That was in response to OP saying he doesn't understand why there aren't executable scripts for everything you can do in Linux. If you think it's implying superiority, you're the one being elitist. No, I'm not mad. And by that phrase I assume you're just trolling.
Depends on your calendar sign and the sign the moon was in the day you were born. Apparently Wine really fucking hates Leo-Cancers because I can't get it to work for jack shit.
Same here. It hardly runs any apps I need, and they're nothing complex either, just simple single, self-contained exe files for things like ISO compression, Icon editors, etc.
But the whole password every 2 seconds (and password to do anything quite frankly) will piss them off, and me included. I just don't find the benefits outweighing the cons.
I too wonder what you're doing that requires entering a password every 2 seconds. On my Arch distro I often go days without ever needing to enter a password (mainly because I have it set to automatically login). Whenever you're setting up a Linux distro you do need the admin password quite frequently. But once you've installed all your major programs and have all the little settings configured there shouldn't be any "everyday" task that requires the password.
