My only issue with the last and previous IE's that supported tabbed browsing was that it was incredibly slow at creating tabs and that it did not have a "favorites" page afterward and such, and the versions before tabbed sucked for that reason, no tabs. Is the tab creation up to par with chrome or firefox in this version? If so I might give it a go.
as far as tab creation goes, they get created instantly. this is what you get in a blank new tab;

Hoping my automerge doesn't break...
Then you're no better than the IE fanboys. I'd say worse, because fanboys usually have a reason for liking something.
The last good Firefox version that was released was 3.0.x. 3.5, 3.6, and 4.0 all suck ass.
I was forced to use Chrome for 4 and a half months. I hated Chrome.
Our spare room computer is filled with so much trash, compliments of my sister, that the only browser that will even start is Safari, so I'm forced to use that. And it's crap.
After trying Opera for a few weeks, I thought it was garbage too.
And jesus fuck, IE has been crap for as long as I can remember.
As you can see, I don't think anybody even develops a decent browser anymore. They all now have useless features loaded into them/lack of necessary features or are jumping on the Chrome bandwagon by constantly making these shit minimal UIs.
Don't compare me to fanboys without even knowing what I prefer/don't prefer.
Awesome, thanks.
Trying it when I get home.
hey man we're on 7 now just letting you know
I'm talking about Vista here, which is still widely-used. But while I'm at it, I've never really used 7 so is UAC shit on 7 too?
Edit: Automerge break #2. Damn this is an active thread.

I dunno if it sucks AS much as vista's UAC does, but i disabled it right away when i installed 7. Still had those fucking messages whenever i tried to install & actually do something.
Is it only mine that wont load the Acid3 test?
Maybe you shouldn't be using IE. :downs:

Not to be a dick or anything but er...

Seriously, stop whining, it takes about 5 minutes to get used to. I don't even notice it anymore.
[editline]11:47PM[/editline]
Win7 has a special mode of UAC that only prompts for permission when a program wants to elevate, and not for user actions like changing control panel settings.
Although I do seem to recall that one having an exploit that could make a virus silently elevate itself.
Why didn't they just use some hover trickery to make the URL bar appear when you need it to.
[editline]10:51PM[/editline]
It's obviously designed to towards the casual browser who has 4-5 tabs open. Otherwise, just ditch it.
So has anyone with XP tried it?
It's not supposed to support XP which is what... 50% of the people using the internet.
So everyone will stick with their "It works" IE8 and IE7

Just read the review, I see it does not

Because things that pop out suck, are annoying and shit.

What, you're telling me that i should DEAL with something that is completely pointless and interferes with my work all the time. No, i turn it off and don't use IE.
No paste and go, what's up with that? As far as I'm concerned any browser that wants to be taken seriously should allow me to copy an address then paste it into the address bar with the option to immediately load that page. I still have to paste it then hit 'enter'.
No mouse gestures? C'mon, it's 2010!
Tabs should be on their own bar.
Other than that, I'm liking it so far.
It's not pointless and it doesn't get in the way normally.
It's not pointless and it doesn't get in the way normally.
Last time i had it turned on, it did. So it stays turned off. For my preference just doesn't work.

That would just be annoying dude.

there's multiple uac levels, depending of how intrusive you want it to be.

Why are defending IE like it's part of your family. R U GAY?
I'm not defending IE. It's just a general truth. Things that pop out suck balls.

Gotta agree with this.
We've already had an IE9 thread for 3 weeks...

But they aren't been very creative because I can't see any other way they can gain more users. The complete lack of UI customisation is bad as well.
Customisation is way over rated. Here's a single design that works well and not 5 million that only works for one person.
Customisation is way over rated.
That's like saying Open Source is overrated. You'd rather it be a closed system?
I like being able to change a browser to my favorite looks, thats just a silly thing to say that its over rated.
That's like saying Open Source is overrated. You'd rather it be a closed system?
What do I care if it's closed? Open source is overrated, everyone praises it like it's some sort of godly virtue bestowed upon the select few by the pope of FOSS, Richard Stallman.
What Open Source really means to me is "yay, free stuff!". That most of the time sucks and is unstable and horribly designed.
The UI is completely unusable with the custom Win7 theme I'm using...
It's nice, but the tabs next to the URL bar is just a terrible design choice. If they wanted to make it more minimalistic, why not remove that pointless titlebar that has *nothing in it* when maximized.
That is exactly why I am using Chrome.
Still wouldn't mind trying this but I like how my UI looks right now.
I think that internet explorer needs to completely change its logo and its name, then people may consider getting it. That fucking logo along with name is a bad omen!
