Also, most, if not all, jailbreak developers frown upon jailbreaking being used to pirate apps.

I just jailbroke my Touch 2g on 4.0 yesterday, what are some essential apps to download? I will not install installous or anything illegal, as I am a law-abiding citizen that doesn't want to steal from the people that are trying to make a money with apps.

I am kind of confused, as I don't know a whole lot about this kind of stuff. I just bought a Iphone 4, and in Itunes it says I am using 4.1. Am I able to jailbreak? I tried Jailbreakme.com, didn't work. Do I have to wait it out or what?

Yes, you have to wait. The 4.1 jailbreak has not been released yet.

Well, you could try downgrading it to 4.0 or 4.0.1, but that's just an ungodly pain in the ass.

I love how all tutorials or guides make downgrading seem really easy when in my experience it was harder then it made it seem.

This will be for IOS 4.1, but yes, it will not work for iPhone 3g or 3gs and some touches. There already is an IOS 4.1 JB for 3g, and one for 4.1 3gs will be coming sometime after this release. I haven't looked into it too much yet, this was just the first I heard of its release, and wanted to share.

I have some jailbroken apps (particularly emulators, vlc4iphone... you get the drill?). If I update, will I lose EVERYTHING?! Or will they just stay there, non-usable, and will only come back if I jailbreak?
