0-blackcomb 1-sbradford26 gg
Why thank you. Didn't want to get shown up by a person who has 16 posts. [editline]07:43PM[/editline] Also I do like the -1% cpu usage for the F3.
:crossarms: So the 500 gig f3 is faster and apperently uses -1% of the cpu the burst speed beats it by a small margin. Also the terabyte f3 is faster because of its higher memory density. Also raid 0 average drives beat a velociraptor. Finally the velociraptor is 3 times the price for a marginal increase in burst speed and a downgrade in sequential speed. So what does this teach use. You don't buy the veloricraptor instead you go an ssd or a high capacity drive or raid 0. Also saying a benchmark is fucked up because it doesn't beat the competition by much is always amusing.
Of course RAID 0 anything will beat a Velociraptor. Pretty much everything you do with a hard drive is sequential anyway, and SSDs are way, way more expensive than the Velociraptors.

And don't give me it is much less capicity cause all you will use the velociraptor is for a os drive and a few programs which 64 gigs can handle.
Except the whole point with the burst is to play games.
Which you can do just fine on your standard HDD.
Except the whole point with the burst is to play games.
Yay, my savegames will load in two seconds instead of three ! And my textures will take 4 less seconds to load ! Serioulsy, who does fucking care with so small time that you don't notice. You're not watching your screen like an idiot while it loads, normally.

Anyway that computer looks kickass! Oh and, newegg is pretty awesome. Everything seemed to be fine "In Stock", except the Power Supply. And it's not too expensive I guess? Sucks to be European.. Any other good online stores that ships to Europe and so? Reliable, much in stock?

I'm not European, but I do believe Overclockers is good too?
Dolby is a gimmick
No it isn't. I was recommended the Xonar on Headfi, by the way.
No it isn't. I was recommended the Xonar on Headfi, by the way.
Yes, Dolby is a gimmick. And did you tell them you'd be gaming because I did and they had a lengthy argument about why the X-Fi is better, mainly because of EAX 5.0.
isn't dolby for surround sound or something
Yes, Dolby is a gimmick. And did you tell them you'd be gaming because I did and they had a lengthy argument about why the X-Fi is better, mainly because of EAX 5.0.
Why is it a gimmick, then? I was told there isn't a huge difference between the two and that the Xonar is generally considered a good music + gaming card, but if you were doing purely gaming the X-Fi might be a little better.
2x5870 > 3x5850
This. That last 4x slot on the motherboard won't contribute very much to your graphics for what you would pay for it. Edit: He changed the motherboard, but still, two 8x slots wouldn't much of an upgrade over an 16x+4x and definitely not worth the $100 extra cash that will be spent on it.
Eh, I gave it a try. http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=17259388

Well, I really need a better case, and a compatible one for EATX, but I can't find a good one that I like anywhere, even off of Newegg. I'm looking for a side window case, with some pretty lights. I may seem picky, but I just rather my computer look nice and sexy, then just a big ole hunk of metal sitting on my desk, but that's just me. Also, the hard drive, I'm seeing mixed reviews between the VelociRaptor and 1TB to 2TB Caviar Black. Can I have some feed back from a VelociRaptor owner? I'm just trying to debate whether Speed is over space. Just, only 300 Gigs, just seems really low for me, but I don't know how the speed would make up for it. As for the graphics card, I'm really not going to go with ATI, I'm sorry guys. I'd just rather stay with Nvidia, been a customer with them for over 9 years now, and They've never let me down. I'm thinkin if the new cards don't come out by Mid-April, I'll just order SLI 285's. The power supply, I was going to go with Corsair, but when I saw the Kingwin I have listed, I really liked it. I like the light displays, and the cable management, the way It plugs into the PSU, looks really clean. The reviews are also almost all 4-5 stars, which is what convinced me that I'm not ordering from some off brand PSU that will blow up.

Basicly, you're just buying for the NVIDIA name on it. ATI currently supports DX11, cheaper and works. Also, with lights then you don't really need them, it's just a gimmick to get people to buy them and also, you'll probably get bored of looking at them, I know I did. The HAF 932 is one great case, good for air flow and supports EATX. Almost all full towers do. You also can't go off reviews from on NewEgg, it might give you a reference but sometimes they are biased. My point being is that you shouldn't favor any brand over another because you like them more. Nothing is bad about ATI chipset but it may be the manufacturers might not be as good. I have a GTX 260 and there's nothing special about it. You could always go with an SSD which is faster then a VelociRaptor and game on a normal hard drive which is just fine. The bad thing about a VelociRaptor is that it also wouldn't last as long since there's lots of friction to it running at 10k RPM and heat too.
You cannot be a Nvidia customer unless you are a graphics card manufactor. You buy the cards from companies that buy chipsets from Nvidia and make the card.
