I didn't ask for you guys to make me a build, but to give input. Just because I have more trust in one company then the other doesn't make me a "fantard". If I need to, I'll wait for Nvidia's new line of cards that will compete with ATI. Just like if I'd prefer a Ford Mustang over a Dodge Challenger, would that make me a Ford "fantard" ? If I'm gonna pay $2,600, I want what appeals to me, and what I want for that much money into a computer.
Except with that budget you could have ATI's 5970, which doubles the performance of Nvidia's most powerful card.

It's not like that at all. You don't drive around in your graphics card; it outputs visual information on your monitor. Ultimately it does not make ANY difference whether the sticker stuck to it is green or red. If you have a thing for little green stickers then you should be buying green stickers, not graphics cards.

A car is different. If you drive around in a Dodge Challenger and a Ford Mustang then it's car preferences but they cost similar to each other and have similar engines. Both of them use V8 engines and such. I'm not counting horse power, handles and all that other stuff but a car is different than a computer. A computer is price:performence, not price:looks/engine/horsepower/etc. If you want to go with NVIDIA right now then you're just getting a pretty sticker.
