Sony Xperia Z is getting 4.2.2 *slowly looks at HTC*
What are you talking about. I've been running beta 4.2.2 for weeks. I believe it's rolling out now too. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2183023
That's what I meant. Official roll out seems to be happening since today. [editline]24th June 2013[/editline] Should've used more words in the original post
Guys, I have a quite serious problem with my S2 - namely the 3G is not working. To be exact it didn't work since the very day I bought it, so my mobile data works only works in E, H and H+ modes and when it occasionally switches to 3G, it attempts to establish a connection, but usually after 10-30 seconds it switches back to H+. Does anyone have an idea what might be the cause of it?
Sony Xperia Z is getting 4.2.2 *slowly looks at HTC*
Hey, it's pretty obvious that it's basically done, XDA has leaks that are almost guaranteed to be release candidates.

I've had that happen with a few phones, where it switches to 3G sometimes but mainly H, E etc. If your internet's fast it should be fine
Jesus my S3 has the worst battery life. I really don't want to root it but it's like it wants me to.
That depends on the way you use the phone. I use my phone 24/7 and I usually get 1d 23h battery life. If I don't use it much because I'm on class or something, it can last up to 4-5 days with wifi and full bright and so on.
If your internet's fast it should be fine
It is quite fast, I personally consider 1Mbit/s a decent wireless speed. Slightly unrelated but I finally got one of these: [t]http://y96.pw/DSC_0977.png[/t] Anyone interested in a mini-review/comparison?

I'm thinking of picking up either S4 or Xperia ZL. Anyone help me decide? S4 is around 500 eur and I could probably get ZL for 400. I kinda like how compact ZL is.
I've heard the Xperia Z has really shitty viewing angles, assuming it uses the same panel.
RetroArch is the king of Android emulators.
It is the best compilation emulator however individual emulators are better than RetroArch. FPse and Gameboid are both better emulators than the PS1 and GBA emulators built into RetroArch
Why does cyanogenmod come with a CWM that can only be automated using ROM Manager? (At least as far as I understand it) It seems weird for it to be restricted, or locked down to a particular app.
It is the best compilation emulator however individual emulators are better than RetroArch. FPse and Gameboid are both better emulators than the PS1 and GBA emulators built into RetroArch
Gameboid is better but not F&OS. FPse is only marginally better, but not enough for me to consider it even though I bought it and again is not F&OS. I have an S4 so all of these run perfectly at full speed for me though so your mileage may vary. I think the openness makes it worth any slight decreases in performance. Also, GameBoid can't be found easily anymore, and there are plans to change out the current GBA emulator in RetroArch. So these may improve over time.
Can you expand this a bit? I'm not sure if I understand this completely.
3G is UMTS, which has a max speed of 384 kbit/sec. It's extremely slow and generally only used as an idle state to save battery. Once you start actually hitting mobile data in most areas the phone will negotiate a faster wireless speed under HSPA/HSPA+.

(At least as far as I understand it) It seems weird for it to be restricted, or locked down to a particular app.
I dunno, but that's one of the reasons I use TWRP. It's fully compatible with CyanDelta.

26 minutes of screen on time, 5 percent battery life after 10 hours off the charger. Thank you Google Maps! I can't wait for Swefox's Note II to arrive. Even with the extended battery, this phone barely gets through the day sometimes.

So Cyanogenmod 10.1.0 stable released tonight. http://get.cm/?type=stable
3G is UMTS, which has a max speed of 384 kbit/sec.
UMTS (HSDPA) has a theoretical downstream speed of 21Mbps if I remember correctly. HSPA+ is like 160-something down Mbps.
So Cyanogenmod 10.1.0 stable released tonight. http://get.cm/?type=stable
Nightly > Stable > RC
Nightly features the latest unstable code, RC is frozen with small modifications while last problems are worked out, and stable is well, a stable release. Personally, I see nothing so amazingly awesome coming up that I'd pick that over stability. Now I'll just have to wait until the stable release for my phone is actually updated, and then I can check if it's actually stable.
