What stops a giant company like that from hiring someone who can do a new app though?
Then again I wouldn't count on it looking good even if they remade it. Steams default skin is atrocious on desktops as well. It looks like they were about 20% done with it but then just stopped working on it.
oh god what the fuck am i writing. so many errors

The only thing that stops them is that they ran out of fucks to give

Let's download it on my tablet and see if it's any worse
I couldn't find the logout button because it's hidden in the profile page.
Apparently I'm on the latest version
Hooray gradual rollouts
Holy dick I downloaded UCCW and thought I'd fuck around and make some widgets.
I can't do ANYTHING D:

Downloaded the latest Skype APK from a place
It hasn't changed at all :v:
[editline]3rd July 2013[/editline]
My favourite part about the Skype UI is how the tablet version is better than the phone one, but it's still terrible
Example: They recently added the feature of portrait mode in calls
While the rest of the app is still locked to landscape
Hasn't changed at all? The UI got a major facelift (not bad but I have my complaints), but the most important part is that it's now finally as fast as an app should be.
So I just fucked up during a cm update (somehow), gotta do a fresh install :(
reflashing current/previous build doesn't help?
gapps (some of them, namely the google account thingy itself) were missing after updating, flashing gapps again didn't work, kept crashing the wizard with no way to cancel out of it (can't get out of it without cancelling within the app itself).
The Skype app lags less since the latest update for me.

I like how you mention it lags less. :v:
Someone needs to make Skype integration happen on Android sorta the same way it worked on Meego on the Nokia N9.
I almost never use it on my phone, despite it being one of the main ways I communicate with people , because it lags and eats battery.
New Skype update looks nice just why can't they load up my friends' contact pictures and also why doesn't it sync my recent messages and calls from my computer? It seems like it is literally impossible for them to make a functioning app that works like the desktop version. Also my Nexus no longer seems to burn my hand off when its screen is on for any length of time.

Afaik skype is somewhat p2p so when you log back in somewhere else (app, other pc), you'll receive every single message sent to you since you've been online there, but only from the contacts currently online. Messages aren't syncing for you because there is no syncing, they are however sent to you again when a person you've had contact with comes online.
I only log in to skype on mobile once a month or something, and I usually, depending on time of day (contacts online), get like 100 new messages.
This is fitting.

that subreddit is amazing
Sometimes, I read ACJ and realize I don't know if they're circlejerking or are actually serious. Love it.
I like the new Skype app, it seems to hog a fair amount of battery though
And it doesn't have a "quit app" button nor a "go offline after X minutes of inactivity" which the previous version did (when you went back into the app after that delay it would instantly reconnect you and start syncing messages)
Overall it is a pretty damn fine improvement though IMO

The quit button can be found by going to your profile > menu > Log out.
So my shit phone died and I'm getting either an S4 or an HTC One, any recommendations?
I don't know if I completely care about the lack of removable stuff on the HTC One, but at the same time I don't know anything about this shit so I may end up regretting that later
Both phones are superb. What made me get the One was the front speakers. I was fed up with cupping the speaker on my old phone.
The One sounds incredible. However, the camera definitely, definitely does not match up to the S4.

Definitely not in daytime, but the camera absolutely destroys just about everything in low light. Seriously, not even a fair fight.
Short question, wanted to update Cyanogenmod over it's build in updater, now CWM tells me the zip file is untrusted. Should I wait for later updates?

Turning off flash forever felt amazing though
I finally got my $25 Play Store credit from HTC. Now which apps should I buy? I just got Bloons 5 and Reddit Sync Pro. I'll probably get Helium Pro as well.
I say do not get anything you would not normally get. If you continue at your normal rate of app buying, you can effectively avoid spending money on apps for weeks, possibly months.

Good thinking. I had a big list of apps I was going to buy, however, after receiving the credit I only bought two and the rest look unappealing. Time to start waiting for sales!
I'm returning my Nexus. The battery life is just abysmal for someone who actually likes to use their phone with the screen on.
