Short question, wanted to update Cyanogenmod over it's build in updater, now CWM tells me the zip file is untrusted. Should I wait for later updates?
Probably just because it has no md5 file to check against. If you really think it's a bad build wait a day for the next update.
I'm returning my Nexus. The battery life is just abysmal for someone who actually likes to use their phone with the screen on.
That's why I'm thinking of getting an extended battery for my S3. Sure, it has great standby life, but I actually like to use my phone.
It's a shame texting kills battery life so much, because that's what I do 24/7
What's a good weather app that comes with a widget?

It's called a window.
Sorry.
I have never seen a ROM without some form of stock weather widget (samsung, cyanogenmod, htc, google).

That's partially why I'm considering not buying a AMOLED screen for my next phone. I know shit's probably changed since the Galaxy Nexus, but damn, it consumes well over 60% of the battery at not even full brightness. I'd rather not have to worry about browsing white web pages draining my battery that much farther. And that's ignoring the other issues like display calibration inconsistencies and burn in.
The nexus is such a nice phone. The battery just kills me though. I use my devices on a daily basis with the screen on for a majority of the use. So, what are some suggestions for Android phones with good battery life on AT&T?

eye in the sky
yahoo weather surprisingly doesnt suck
Eye in the Sky is pretty good for being minimal.
In other news, I got another case for my phone and this time I actually like it.
The UAG Scout:

I feel like I could chuck my phone down the road and it'd be fine. Solid ass case.
That looks like something a special forces soldier would have on his phone in a movie.
(good thing)

They don't have one for the Nexus 4 :(
I'm looking for advice on theming my Nexus 7. I spent hours earlier today browsing through MyColorScreen but all of the submissions are made for phone usage. Any ideas?
The leaked information about Moto X customization is hilarious. It's old Nokia-style colorful back covers, text engraving (ala iOS devices) and changing your wallpaper. That's it.
I love reading how mad people are that their made up imaginary specs didn't turn out to be true.

Get a ZeroLemon battery for your S3, I have one and it's fucking amazing
it's cheap and ships super fast internationally
40 euros for getting one to France, battery life skyrocketed, i can get around 8 hours of on screen time over 3/4 days

Hmm. Slim battery for Galaxy S4 with 15% higher charge (2600mAh vs 3000mAh.) I get 2 for $27 + an external charger. It doesn't have NFC wiring in the battery but I don't use that anyway. I'm wondering if I should go for it.
What is Facepunch's opinion on the best CPU governor and scheduler? I'm using Lionheart and sio and battery life and performance are good but I could probably do better, since I literally just chose the governor for its awesome name. I feel like I am a fucking knight and my phone is my sword.

I don't fuck with that because in my experience that creates more issues than it solves.

That is one hour on screen time. I would have left it until it ran dry, but I needed it this morning so I had to charge from there. I estimate that with one hour on screen time, I can get around 2 days of battery life which isn't pretty good (how in gods name did I manage to write bad instead of good) I guess? I usually use it a lot more though.
So my white N4 bumper had a little defect, so while I requested a replacement (I'm only paying $1.50 for shipping :v: A fucking letter sent within this country would probably cost me more), I tore the defective one apart. Well, separated the white rubbery plastic from the border.
Turns out it's held together by two pieces of double-sided tape on the sides.
And Google charges you 20 bucks (or worse, Euros) + shipping for that. Granted it IS the best looking bumper case that I've seen for an Android phone yet, but the ones on eBay are absolutely identical and cost about $6 or $7, that includes worldwide shipping.
I prefer the S4 active over the S4 because it doesn't have an samoled display :v:
I had AMOLED once.
I don't want to go back.
Though it does looks so sexy on my S3 with a black front
That's (IMO) the only advantage.
Besides the burn in what problems are there with the screen technology (basically not related to calibration)?
I like AMOLED. Also the burn-in isn't really that bad; the only burn-in I had with my Galaxy S Fascinate was with the status bar, but that's because that's literally the only static element that existed for the entire 3 year run of the phone. The contrast ratio is a huge bonus.
I think it looks really nice
No I didn't say it was accurate, before Kaabi leaps on me :v:

Actually if I had the choice, I'd put a properly calibrated AMOLED screen in the Oculus Rift; the ability to have total blackness in a virtual reality headset would be huge.

That's actually a really cool idea
I would be totally fine with the technology if burn in didn't exist, I know it can only be minor but it still makes me twitchy knowing it can happen
