When you do I can't recommend enough you go with Giffgaff: You can order a SIM from them for free, make an online account and pay for phone stuff (I.E, 500 mins, unlimited texts and 1GB data for £10, which you can pay for whenever you please). Plus calls and texts are free to anyone else on giffgaff. Sorry about the plug, I'm just really pissed when people go with fucking expensive as hell contracts over here.
Yeah, I've heard a lot about giffgaff from here in the past and looks like it's the best option around.
Yeah, I've heard a lot about giffgaff from here in the past and looks like it's the best option around.
I'd gone with them just because of the name. giffgaff. Seriously, what? :v:
HTC ONE simultaneously switch between Sense and GE rom without loosing data ( BOTH ROMS Share data )
This is probably made possible by the fact that the GE ROM still contains the Sense framework; it just removes the visible skin. Same reason why the HTC Camera app can still work on GE. I think GE is a really cool compromise in that sense.
Well damn, I forgot this detail. How easily does the phone get a scratch in the paint? I'm going to use a pouch or phone sock for it since I think it's a sin to cover the all metal body with a case...
It'll get scratched when you least expect it. I had mine just sat on my bed, and when I woke up it had a tiny chip in the paint on the bottom front grill some how (Only thing in bed was me and it). But other times it has been in my pocket with change and keys and had no scratches to its a luck kind of thing. I just got a cheap see through case off my local market.
So the soft keys are also faster and more responsive than hardware keys, of course.

Every time I tried AOSP ROMs, shit camera app made me sad.
I still need to remember to harvest the camera app out of official TouchWiz and try and get it working in CM. The quality of pictures coming out of my phone since I left TW has considerably gone downhill.

We really need a Google Edition ROM for the S3 (in fact, I posted that on Samsung's Facebook page). It would have enough TouchWiz guts to support the camera app. Without any TouchWiz, I don't think it's possible. It needs the API.
Galaxy S2 Skyrocket.
Yeah you'll never get it working.

Anyone know of a decent Galaxy SIII ROM? Currently running Paranoid Android, but its fucking my battery life over royally.

I'm not the type of person who's comfortable with paint starting to fade off things, especially when it's so noticeable like on the black version of the One.

"Us techies read the blogs and know what features we may be missing. I think if you asked a consumer, 'Do you feel like your phone OS needs to be updated today?' they're pretty happy with the results and the performance they're seeing. So I'm not sure it's a major issue."
Just thought you guys might want this.

shivers
Does Android OS use up a noticeable amount of battery life for any of the other Note II users here? Mine is at 15% now, though I recall it being more than the screen sometime this week.
It does that sometimes, I just ignore it as false data as I always get the same amount of time out of a charge.

Android OS is reporting nearly 7h of CPU time. The only thing that makes this bearable is that I have an extended battery; but that means I can't enjoy its benefits to the fullest. I've heard that flashing a different kernel could fix this but I don't even know where to begin with this so...
That reminds me of people on XDA saying that their Galaxy S2 (running CM 10.1) is faster than the Nexus 4. shivers
If it's a brand-new Galaxy S2 straight from the factory and the Nexus 4 is a launch-model with massively degraded Flash, I wouldn't be surprised at all.
Scrolling in the new Google maps is terribly laggy on my nexus 7
Finally got around to flashing m+ kernel that iCole suggested on my Nexus 4. Combined with Trickster MOD it is awesomely fast, has loads of options and great battery life. [editline]14th July 2013[/editline] Still don't have the new Google maps, probably going to get the .apk.
Just ordered a Black HunterF case for my S3. Looks fucking great in the pictures. snip snip
It sure does.

I keep saying this but the people that don't get it doesn't seem to change. There is no replacement for BBS, it is the only application worth using when it comes to serious reading of battery life issues.

I don't know even have the new maps update yet.

It has GPU governor support and a "Simple" GPU governor set by default, which reduces N4 heat (fuck yes) while extending battery life by a tiny bit. Build 10 should also be coming very very soon (matter of hours), with some security fixes and a CyanogenMod LED fix (colors went a little crazy when charging).
Been a proud owner of the HTC One for a couple of hours and I have to say, this is the most amazing device that I've ever owned. The very best thing except for full metal body? NO MORE CUPPING MY HANDS FOR MEDIA CONSUMPTION HALLELUJAH!
I think if samsung don't fix my phone I'm just gonna sell the front on ebay again for about £120 and then buy an iPhone 4, they're about £180-£190 and I just need a reliable smartphone, and cheap android phones kinda suck/are stuck on gingerbread
