Speak for yourself. I can barely fit all my apps and app data into that.
I suppose this includes either a ton of games, or few of the large games (GTA, Real Racing and so on), otherwise how the hell do you fill up ~12GB with apps alone?
Actually the Chinese One has a micro SD slot.

Yeah, I know. But I'm not guessing he's buying that one :v
I have so much music and games, I have like 5 gb free right now.

... QQ 'bout it. I have 15mb left after clearing all cache and stuff...
180mb total sucks
I have a 4gb SD card but most programs won't use it, even with the SDK tweak
I have like 100mb free after clearing cache, I just managed to install the latest chrome beta update. I get like 300mb free before installing stuff

Of the 180mb, you need to include Android

Lots of documents, high res pictures, PSDs for photoshop touch, drawings in Paper, a gig or two of high res manga. Only ~300MB of games.

So is google regretting this purchase yet?

the total internal storage partitioned for system and appdata is about 1gb for my phone
the total internal storage partitioned for system and appdata is about 1gb for my phone
that's still over 5 times the amount I have..

I had a HTC Legend with around the same amount of storage you have. When I got it, Apps2SD wasn't officially supported so I could only have like 10-20 apps installed before the storage was filled, it fucking sucked. I then got an S1 with 1.85GB free space for apps and oh boy, I could never go back.

i've been using my iphone not caring about space for 2 years. i am just barely at 16.1GB.
i could easily clean some of that off, and its mostly podcasts.app taking up 4 gigs

Yeah, I'm thinking about buying a new phone. But on the other hand, this one works fine so I don't really see that big a reason yet.
When is that? Hoping for a new Nexus (5) phone, don't want to upgrade from galaxy nexus to nexus 4 just yet.
I/O begins next Tuesday (May 14) and goes on until the May 17. There mostly likely isn't going to be any Nexus 4 news and definitely no Nexus 5.

I thought the number after the Nexus designation was the screen size, not the iteration
Let us hope Android 4.3 is announced and close to release.

From what I heard, it is. The Nexus part is the one that will be changed.

Sony must have been stupid because 300mb free is not enough and many of their 2011 Xperia if not all of them have this crappy internal storage.

1.5GB should be the minimum. Manufacturers really need to get their shit together and increase storage size since we've been stagnating at 8-32GB for far too long. If Sandisk can cram 64GB onto a MicroSD working perfectly, I expect mobile phone companies to be able to at least double that with the amount of room they have onboard.
Cheap lazy fucks.
Having less than 16GB base nowadays seems just absurd, and 32GB base is probably a good baseline, especially with games being damn near a gig a piece.
Just won an N4 bumper knockoff (+ screen protector) on eBay, $10 (shipping included) :v:
Heck, if it turns to be shit, I won't be mad. 10 bucks isn't much.

I expect at least 128GB maximum for now, if they can fit 64GB into an sdcard, the internal should have better storage capabilities imo
I would struggle to fill 32GB so I don't know why anyone would ever need 128GB.

Recording high quality videos, pictures, music. I would use about 70GB with just music :)
Sadly if they were to ramp up the storage size the prices would increase a lot. A bit silly though, considering I bought a 32GB SD card for $25 brand new. But they are charging $50 for 8GB, a bit ridiculous.

People tend to use their phones for video, high quality music and the like a LOT
plus it's nice to know you won't run out any time soon
I have all of my music, videos and pictures on my phone and I've only used about 20GB.
I guess I'm in the minority that streams everything from YouTube/Netflix/Spotify and only allocate few playlists to be saved for offline use. Then again 99% of my music listening is done at home and I mostly use my iPhone for texts, calls, web browsing and email aggregation, so of the 32GB of space I'm only using about 15GB, 7GB of it is apps which I don't even use (I have 26 app updates on my phone) and 5GB of photos. Although a good chunk of the app storage is my local Spotify downloads.
I got about 18GB and i'v almost never been able to fill it. The one time i did was because i had to re-download all my spotify playlists and i'd forgotten that the quality slider was set to FLAC on steroids
Took me a while to find out what the hell took so much space all the sudden. On the topic of games though, I'v never really seen that big games. The biggest i'v seen would probably be Swords and Sworcery or some other Humble Android Bundle at 500 - 700mb
Fuck google's, apple's, samsung's watches, I have LCARS on my wrist!

Were getting a trend of apps that are higher in quality which consumes a lot of space. It won't be long before some apps require 5GB of space.
