With, what, 5 seconds of screen on time? Having your phone last in standby for 4 days doesn't mean shit. Go back to XDA.
No. Phones sold to germans living in Amerika get that.
We're all living in Amerika.
My one-month-old HTC One just developed a 1.5 inch column of dead pixels today. It's never been dropped. This really bites.

Nexus users rejoice!
Righto, I'm looking at getting an HTC One but I'd like to "Nexus-ify" it. This is mainly because of my intense dislike of HTC Sense - I much prefer the stock UI.
I don't want to get the Nexus Edition, though - the loss of functionality like the IR blaster (which is actually a factor in my purchase) isn't worth it for me. What software do I need in terms of custom launchers and such to get as close as possible to the stock experience, and how close will it be?

Nova Launcher, though it won't reskin everything, just your homescreen, app drawer and notifications.
Everything else will still be Sense 5

I get the feeling that 4.3 might be adding IR blaster functionality.
So I might just get a Nexus 4 instead of the 4X HD. Agree for Nexus 4, disagree for HD. I can get the Nexus for 100 more euros, so it might be worth it.
I don't know about the guy we were originally talking about, but in my case anything I tried to do in Heimdall was a no-op. As in, Heimdall detected my device, and said it was all good when I told it to flash recovery or whatever, but my phone didn't react to it at all. The only thing that's been successful on my phone is ODIN.
Yah the same for me. btw im the one he was talking about but i just flashed CWM and then TWRP because my CWM was to old or something but it worked in the end and im pretty happeh with CM10.1 its just so much Better than Samsungs ROM!
You don't have a T-Mobile US GS3, you have the international variant. If you try to flash a US GS3 variant ROM you will hard brick your phone.
Glad that it didnt work and i didnt brick it
Samsung called home about my S3 while I was out and my brother who was very drunk attempted to write down the support number and reference number so I can call them back
except the number is written so horribly it doesn't make sense, there is like 3 backwards 9's
what the fuck do I do
redial or something?
redial or something?
It's not the same number seeing as they told him to write it down, I'm guessing
Try getting through support about your phone and state your name + address. I'd expect they keep logs on things that are sent to them.
I'll try that later
I've got about three quarters of the number so perhaps if I tel them what I THINK it is they'll be able to find it :v:

but... my phone doesn't have a menu button
:(
Just read something that gives me huge confidence in the Moto X. John Franklin is a pretty knowledgeable dude.

Paul O'Brien (sp?) is working on it. Dynamic switching between Sense and GPe ROM is in development and rapidly near release. So you can use GPe for most everything, and then switch to Sense without a reboot if you want to use something like Zoes or Sense TV.
I seem to be having some serious stability issues on my s2 (I9100) running the dorimanx kernel. Can you guys suggest any good kernels?
My Verizon Galaxy S4 is telling me that I have an OTA update but I'm too scared to do it. What do?
don't update
yeah, the latest S4 OTA for verizon apparently locks you out from rooting/modding really bad.
I think I might switch back to the official Samsung rom for the S3 because I want all the cool camera features and 50% less battery drain and especially multi window

Yeah, I'm thinking about doing that too, now that 4.1.2 is finally out in Canada. (4.1.2 fixes the clipboard bug and introduces multi-window.) I've also noticed higher battery drain with CM10.1 (even without any wakelocks).
Touchwiz based ROMs can be good too.
Samsung stock ROMs are good performance wise, it actually has that magical optimisation thing! Of course aesthetics are subjective. I find Touchwiz does add functionality too though.
Don't mind me, just jumping in to be "that guy".
New job gives me a free phone - S4 or DNA?
Out of those two I would say S4. Higher specs, extreme possibility of more/faster updates, higher popularity making for a much better accessory availability.
But do check one out IRL if possible, to see if you're ok with the display. Many can't get over the high saturation.
