As expected samsung want £120 to repair my S3
I'm so pissed off, seeing as it was literally just repaired and I bought an espensive ass case for it, and then it just dies
Get the s4, you'll get more storage because microsd card slot.
Don't mind me, just jumping in to be "that guy".
New job gives me a free phone - S4 or DNA?
Raise hell and say that it was clearly eMMC sudden death. Get them to cover the motherboard replacement.
Thanks dudes :) S4 it is
Can Titanium Backup restore settings like Google/Twitter/Dropbox accounts? When I was messing around with ROMs a few months ago I remember that even if I restored apps with their data, I'd have to re-enter my logins

Usually the ritual involves pentagrams, black candles, sacrifices and blood, but you could substitute some things for things you have around your home. White candles should work fine and red water paint mixed with eggwhites should do the trick for both the color and thickness of the blood. You might have to get a bit creative with the sacrifices though, perhaps there's a pet around your house or your neighbours.
Edit: Didn't even realize this would be post 666 until afterwards :D
if you shake your phone in frustraton while using the new google maps an error reporting menu pops up
The new play store doesn't look great at all unless you live in US
- Little content on the start page.
- Unnecessary side menu.
- Unnecessary scroll, which lead to nothing but some copyright information and stuff like that.

Looks more empty on bigger screens. Just re-sized the browser so it doesn't take up a lot of space.
Looks fine in the UK.

are you rooted
How do I go about "Raising hell"
Argue like hell with them by mentioning what Hunt3r.j2 said and that you just got your phone fixed, which again may put blame on them as their intervention might have affected the phone causing it to die.
What's the best way to remove bloatware from the touchwiz roms?

If you still got your root, you can delete them easily somehow. No idea how it's done though :v:

Root uninstaller on the Play Store was what I used.

Not bad for an SGS2.
Yeah some handsets can drive their comparatively smaller pixel count pretty damn effectively

I did the repair myself though
half the phone is black and the other half is white :v:

"No sir the phone was fixed and phones do not simply fail like this"
When they inevitably say "no we can't do anything" to something the way to get something out of them is silence. Silence makes the other person uncomfortable and they will try to say something to get you to respond.
You have to be firm. Say that you understand warranty is voided for the parts you replaced but you still have a warranty on the mainboard.
Do anything it takes. Don't get angry, ever. You have to be very cool, speak with measured response. Sound very disappointed if they give you bad news.
There's a chance that they are not allowed to make any exceptions, but if they can, these are generally the best tactics for getting what you want, based upon my experiences with contacting AT&T support for various things.

what's wrong?
Is there two /sdcard directories because that's good
For some reason today while my Nexus was sitting on my desk it just randomly restarted. No warning, no messages, no errors, it just restarted. It isn't rooted or running any alternate roms or kernel nor do I think it was overheated. Weird...

It's normal, they do it sometimes. Don't worry about it.

I like how that's considered "normal" behavior. :v:

if I remember correctly it's /sdcard/external_sd
or at least it is with the S2
Anyone know of a good alarm clock app? The one on the Samsung s4 is crap because it stops going off after the alarm sound plays once or after a 30 second snip of the song you have chosen. Preferably a free one please!:-)

My phone force shut downs while using facebook and I consider that normal.

The recent apps screen causes a performance drop on both my Nexus 7 and GNexus if it gets too full. Clear it and the lagginess is massively reduced. "Supposedly" it doesn't do anything but remove the apps from your recent list, but evidently it does something to free up resources.

It probably removes the screenshot and whatever else from the system memory.
And/or sends a "stop" signal to those apps.
