Can't you get a Charger for it? like a wall adapter?
Hey dudes. I just got an S4 from Sprint for $100 due to some clever haggling and would like to know some good kernels/roms/apps/etc etc since I'm upgrading from an Epic 4G
I'm currently running TWRP and FreeGS4
Anyone? I just realized MMS doesn't work on FreeGS4 for some reason so I need to switch to something else.
~snip somewhat solved.
I actually have a keyboard for that purpose, but I never ended up using it. I'm not an efficient typist.

I guess it looks like I've made up my mind, then. I don't seem open to other ideas.
You can take a look through the ativ q (I believe it's called).
It's holy shit expensive, but it has pen support, windows 8, android 4.2.2 non-tw, a keyboard and other shit. It's an ultrabook with android
I don't think I want to go back to CyanogenMod. Stock Google Android speed is fucking ridiculous.

Everything is instant!
I'd probably use stock AOSP too, if there was a way to customize quick settings. I don't use 99% of CM's extra features. :v:
EXACTLY! I use maybe like 5 features from CM, most just being switches of something (volume warning) or customization of tiles. And the built in Superuser was nice.
But after flashing CM I usually spend almost an hour reverting CM changes to stock (removing lock screen shortcuts other than unlock, changing the battery icon back to normal, stuff like that).
Anyway, 4.3 tomorrow hopefully. Had to get my [del]body[/del]phone ready :v: I mean, I bought this phone for them sweet updates.
I just hope 4.3 isn't as minor of an update as it seems to be. :x

I wonder if I'll get 4.2 by the time it comes out

Considering flashing stock back on to my phone to get the new update. Would having the bootloader unlocked make it so I wouldn't get the OTA update?
OTA should work as long as you have not modified the OS itself. OTA update will unroot (and possibly re-lock the bootloader, but that can be unlocked without a data wipe IIRC) your phone.
edit: assuming you flash the stock image from google's webpage

My N4 is in dire need of a format anyway. Might wait to see when 4.3 comes out though.
Got my HTC One and I'm absolutely loving it.
Can anyone recommend a good flip case? The Double Dip Flip looks nice but I saw a few bad reviews. Are any of them like the iPad "smart covers" in terms of opening to lock screen when flipped open? I know my brother's cheap chinese Nexus 10 case does this, so surely there's something of the sort.
Oh, and if anyone can recommend any good ways to make it like stock without actually installing stock (I love my IR blaster), that'd be great. I've got Nova launcher, but that's it so far.
Also, and if anyone has this in 1080p or larger, I'd be really grateful:

sadly I don't think that wallpaper exists in anything larger than 1440x1280.

You can hear from everywhere (based on the leaks) that it'll be mostly under the hood changes. Every media outlet wants giant new features or a complete redesign or something.
But the fact that they're further optimizing Android, reducing jank (stuttering), there's a new rendering change (see edit below), that's all a pretty major change to me.
[editline]23rd July 2013[/editline]
FOUND IT
As per the I/O session, Google has included out of order screen rendering which renders similar items together reducing state switching of the GPU which results in higher frame rates and battery savings.
[editline]23rd July 2013[/editline]
One thing that's going to bug me though will be that apps running in the background (like LightFlow) will be required to display an icon in the status bar. This was present in the leaks and further confirmed by the dev of LightFlow, because Google actually gave him (and others, I assume) a heads-up that this change is coming for 4.3.

At the same time that's good, but I fear that most apps will not have nice monochrome icons that look like the stock ones and will instead stick giant rainbow colored icons in your statusbar
But I want to have background apps that can run silently D:

Nearly all icons are white these days.

That is already a requirement.

Exactly. It's good for average users who probably don't even know that there's background shit eating up their battery even though they never use it, but I'd really welcome a switch (hell, put it deep down into developer settings for all I care) to turn it off.

White yes, but many can look really out of place in the status bar.
And AFAIK it's not a requirement yet, or not in the same way as it will be in 4.3. Right now Light Flow has a switch in the settings to turn the ongoing notification off (at the risk of system occasionally killing Light Flow to free up memory), BUT in 4.3 leaks there was no way to turn it off at all.

That's ridiculous honestly. I don't like all the icons being active all the time.
Maybe I'm just wishing too much but I really hope that if 4.3 has some more optimization that it'll improve the battery life on the Nexus if it doesn't need as much power to make everything look smooth and run well so you can get better on screen time on stock.

I'm not hoping for much on the GNex. The screen takes most of the battery life. Not much you can do about that.
Isn't the radio being separate from the SoC a big drain too? Or am I thinking of another phone?
toot toot droids announced

Theoretically there will be some improvement thanks to what I mentioned above. If everything is done (even a little) faster, it'll mean the CPU/GPU won't have to do as much work as right now, which will lead to more battery life.
But don't expect an extra hour of screen on time or something. Maybe like 20 minutes. I'll be really surprised if it's more.
I just want Google (or CM) to give us the option to hide shit from the status bar without hiding it from the notification drawer.
I just want Google (or CM) to give us the option to hide shit from the status bar without hiding it from the notification drawer.
Simple swipe gesture from the center of the status bar to the left would fit pretty well.

I have heard that the Google Edition ROM has been modified to include more Sense frameworks so that HTC apps, like the FM radio, work like on stock Sense. Not sure about the IR blaster.
I was thinking of buying a Sony Xperia Z, yes/no? Why or why not?
