Isn't the radio being separate from the SoC a big drain too? Or am I thinking of another phone?
On the Verizon GNexus, I know the LTE chip is separate, which doesn't help. But the screen is by far, the worst offender. I can always turn off mobile data, but the phone is a slight step above useless without a screen.
It doesn't say what date, now does it?
stahp i want to believe (it's probably next week's ad and it's coming the 30th)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=IKrHNkqw-dM&t=364 Oh boy this sounds promising! This guy using the leaked 4.3 build on his Nexus 4 says he's noticed a large increase in battery life on the phone. My hopes are high for this.
I finally went out and bought a PS3 controller for my phone. Playing Mario 64 on it is a blast!
I can't wait for 4.3 to hit AOSP, if the performance improvements + battery life improvements are true. [editline]23rd July 2013[/editline] And here's also hoping its not just N4 specific optimisation...
Any must have apps I might not have?
Definitely not regretting switching back to Touchwiz, I'm nearing 9h of on screen time (that's including a few hours where I was out in the sun taking loads of photos), still got 16% of battery left It seems that the zerolemon extended battery does NOT like being charged faster than it should be though I did this charge via USB to my laptop so it took a good while. Usually I would use my Nexus 7 charger because it's faster. But yeah it feels like charges lasted less long when I did that.
same here man, i used cyanogenmod on my galaxy tab 2 for around a week, switched back to touchwiz, and i'm loving it. more features and much more visually appealing. anyways, my lumia went out on me today and wouldn't turn back on. and i want to get an android under $200. any suggestions?

It's pretty much guaranteed that besides battery capacity in the Maxx, the Moto X is going to be the same.

I finally got my hands on an USB OTG cable, what are some cool uses for it besides plugging in a mouse and a 360 controller? [editline]24th July 2013[/editline] Also: what happened to this tablet interface?

Plus the navigation buttons look way better in the corner on the tablet, it makes sense in the middle of a phone because that's easiest to reach, but I've never seen somebody who can onehand a tablet (maybe Daijitsu)
Anyone have any recommendations for things to do with my TF700T to make good use of its processing power? Particle simulators and the like? I've got some THD games, but even those don't seem to fully utilize its hardware.
After trying Sonys new keyboard for a while, I have to say it's fantastic. I was used to the Sony keyboard before I switched to CM, and didn't like the stock keyboard at all. The only thing that was bothering my about the Sony keyboard was the ugly design choice, which is gone in the new keyboard. atm I think it's only available for Xperia z ultra, but someone ported it so you can flash it on any device. [editline]24th July 2013[/editline] And you can get it in white, white and gray (pictured above) and dark gray. [editline]24th July 2013[/editline] And you can customize the keyboard just how you like it as well. Sound, vibration strength, extra keys, details on keys etc.

There's like half a centimetre of Android bar on my tablet, and that is awesome.
They removed the tablet UI so the whole of Android matched, thus making it easy for people who were used the phone UI to pick up and use a tablet straight away. Expect them to dumb more stuff down the more popular Android gets.

If the Moto X is almost identical but has even better hardware, why do those phones even exist?

it begins in 30 minuteeeeeeeeees http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZzS6BxHEns
There's not gonna be any surprises but I'm still gonna watch to see if they're gonna talk a bit more about any new stuff in 4.3 more in detail (especially the GPU optimization stuff)
Please stand by. We're experiencing technical difficulties. YEP, IT'S GOOGLE ALRIGHT
the new nexus 7 has internals almost identical to whats in the nexus 4 http://www.engadget.com/2013/07/23/second-generation-nexus-7-razor-benchmarks-specs/
