Now to wait for an official update from HTC.
And now to wait for an official update from Samsung for my Note II, because fuck losing all the nice touchwiz features.
I hardly miss them honestly. Which features do you actually use?
Just out of curiosity, will the new Nexus 7 support Ubuntu for the Nexus 7? I'm asking because here it says that Ubuntu for Nexus 7 can't be used for the Nexus 10 because of the differences in the SoC (Samsung Exynos vs. nVidia Tegra3), however, the new Nexus 7 is replacing the NVidia Tegra3 with a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro. Will this cause compatibility errors and make Ubuntu unusable on the new Nexus 7? I am getting a Nexus 7 soon, if I plan to boot Ubuntu on it should I get an old Nexus 7 or a new?
they won't know until they try it
Alright I'm putting 4.3 on this way. Crossing my fingers that this will work. [editline]Edited[/editline] It worked! And all my apps, settings, and data were saved and not deleted.
I do not know what that means.
Latest version of the OpenGL ES graphics library, which provides new graphical features for the developers to work with.
4.3 feels a bit faster so far. Apps launch quicker which surprised me at first. Something that bugs me is that it now shows apps in the notification center that are currently running which is annoying for Battery Doctor since I'm going to constantly get the ugly app icon in my notification center even if I turn on the status bar icon for it. Already the phone feels cooler and I have yet to see the battery life on this thing. The sideloading of 4.3 on here was nerve-racking as I'm kinda new to that sort of stuff and did not want to brick my brand new phone.
Latest version of the OpenGL ES graphics library, which provides new graphical features for the developers to work with.
Doesn't your phone need to have the hardware to support that?
It does it automatically. It downloads the artist pics from the Google Play Store. Obviously if the artist doesn't exist on Google Play, they won't have a picture.
You can also go onto the website and upload your own cover, even overriding the autodownloaded one if you like. As an example, here's the Play Store cover for In A Reverie by Lacuna Coil Personally, I think that's the shitty one, so I went and uploaded the cover I had This cover now shows up in the web player, on the Android app, everywhere. It's nice.
Chromecast's 3 free months of Netflix is valid for existing Netflix customers, not just new ones. That makes chromecast $11
wait hurr durr i prattled on about album covers and you were talking about artist images i think you can upload those too though, actually so i'm still kinda right sorta
Chromecast's 3 free months of Netflix is valid for existing Netflix customers, not just new ones. That makes chromecast $11
it'd be a cool ass device if I didn't watch tv on my phone anyway
I don't understand where can you do that I just put music from my computer onto my phone I had an app for album art but that banner at the top doesn't even sync with the store it just has nothing there
it'd be a cool ass device if I didn't watch tv on my phone anyway
It would be great if I didn't have a PS3 already. [editline]25th July 2013[/editline]
So will the Nexus 7 2 have HDMI out as rumored?
Yep.
Ports & Connectors microUSB SlimPort™ enabled 3.5mm audio Microphone Power and Volume buttons
I really want them to release some EU pricing for the new Nexus 7. I might take my 3DS savings, say fuck 3D-Pokemon and get a Nexus 7 instead.
FUCK I just accidentally updated my Galaxy S4. The fucking pop up that keeps coming up managed to time itself just right; just as I went to tap an icon it came up and I hit the "Install Update" button before I had time to react. Now it's going to unroot my phone and break about half of my apps. Thanks Verizon.
Also, is there a way to make play music play ALL of your albums (in queue or something) instead of just stopping and selecting another album? I mean without having to make a playlist. [editline]24th July 2013[/editline] merge
power amp can do it with specific artists but not sure if it can otherwise, try the trial and select an album and song and press queue/repeat button until it switches to next album after last song of current album
Was too lazy to do a proper homescreen when I flashed the new version of Paranoid Android. So just went with this: [t]http://i.imgur.com/Ls1qkfN.jpg[/t] I see no point in the Halo in PA, the Status bar is just easier to use to see notifications. [editline]25th July 2013[/editline] Also, anyone know of any good Lockscreen replacements? Widgetlocker doesn't actually appear half the time and just shows the stock lock screen.

fuck staged rollouts I want my OTA
chrome is still very slow.. .
chrome is still very slow.. .
Because shit bloated app. What you expect
Cash strapped and switching back to Android. Would I be crazy to pick up a second hand Galaxy Nexus for ~£140?
chrome is still very slow.. .
On potato devices maybe. Buttery smooth on my N4.
So, had 4.3 on my Nexus 4 for nearly 24 hours so far. So far, the battery life is certainly better than 4.2.2. Phone is much faster all round, apps open quickly, can navigate around phone with no hitches in the UI. No artifacts in the UI, I was noticing on 4.2 the app menu background would sometime flicker when you closed it. Touch screen is far more sensitive. Issues I have noticed 3G seems to be quite a bit slower. At my desk I usually get 16Mbit via HSDPA+, was only getting a rather pathetic 1.6Mbit. Phone seems to heat up a bit more than it did on 4.2. When selecting a wallpaper, it pixelates the images in the editor as well as when it is applied to the home screen, fixed this by using a different gallery app (Quickpic).
On potato devices maybe. Buttery smooth on my N4.
my S2 is still a decent phone and it runs at a less than stellar but still ok speed on my nexus 7 (which was fairly decent specced on release) before it took a savage beating it ran like utter shite - stuttering everywhere
Fuck this, just installed the OTA zip manually. NEW STUFF YouTube app opens instantly. This is automatically the best update ever.
When selecting a wallpaper, it pixelates the images in the editor as well as when it is applied to the home screen, fixed this by using a different gallery app (Quickpic).
Not happening here. Are you absolutely positive your image is big enough for Androids weird wallpaper setting?
Not happening here. Are you absolutely positive your image is big enough for Androids weird wallpaper setting?
Tried it on multiple images, including an 18MP image I took with my 60D, all having the same results.
