Just leave your apps where they're supposed to be... Your s4 has enough internal storage for your ten thousand apps you know, just move your music and pictures to your sd card.

I seriously do not understand people wanting to break app behavior by doing weird things like moving apps to sd card. If your phone storage is big enough, why move them at all?
moving to sd does not break app behaviour where did you pull that from
Well for me it's spotify, you can download songs for offline usage but there's no option to save it to the SD card.
but yeah for small apps there's no need
Wow. I never made the connection that moving Spotify to SD card will also mean the cached songs are on my SD card. I may be retarded.

Yeah, it downloads the songs to the directory it is installed to
moving to sd does not break app behaviour where did you pull that from
Well it means that app's widgets can't be used (or it was disallowed by google originally sd moving was in AOSP)
Yeah, it downloads the songs to the directory it is installed to
No it doesn't actually. The latest version should find your sd card and cache the songs there. Try clearing your cache and logging back in, it should then find your sd card path.

oh? that's cool. I did this when it didn't have sd card support. so thanks for the update

Yeah it actually can. Apps with widgets, apps that use background services, apps that start at boot. There's a high chance they won't function correctly anymore after moving them to sd card. Games without notifications etc can be moved to sd I guess, but I don't see the point. Internal storage is large enough.

Yup, it makes perfect sense for them to do this as well, more dev's should use this. I don't know if google android has an api for this but it'd be perfect. Dev's wouldn't have to handle saving of data, they could just use the api to store the cache files wherever available.

I think it's a security thing. No services allowed to run from background and access data etc if they're not in the app's proper sandbox or something I dunno.
Is a 90$ Nexus 7 a good deal?
Is a 90$ Nexus 7 a good deal?
Considering a new one goes for $229 yes. Also where did you find it so cheap ?
Considering a new one goes for $229 yes. Also where did you find it so cheap ?
It might not be the 2013 variant.
[editline]30th July 2013[/editline]
Either way that's a good price.
Buying broken ones on Ebay for about ~$60, a new digitizer/lcd assembly for $60, and selling the old broken one for ~$20-30, fixing it and keeping it.

Am I going crazy or did there used to be a way to customize the quick settings menu?
Anyone know how to down clock your phone?

Custom ROMs only.
Oh, that explains it. I was on Cyanogen for so long that it sort of just began to blend together.
Plus CM makes the additional options blend into Android so well that you sometimes can't even tell if it's a custom feature or just AOSP.
if you have root you can create a symlink and put your app on the sd card
I should start symlinking and breaking things on my phone.
Symlinking also moves the app data and everything onto the sd card right?
Also how do I start, do I just use link2sd and hope for the best?
I'm just worried about corner drops. That's the death of phones with this design.
That's really just an issue with phones that don't actually have a side bezel to absorb shock. Having the glass poke out will definitely makes things worse but I personally put a case on all my phones.
Posting from my new 2013 nexus 7
The surround sound on this thing is trippy

I used the terminal.. but I don't feel confident enough to give you instructions on how to do it.. Haven't used link2sd though so I can't comment on that.
Also symbolic links doesn't move data. It's just a 'pointer' so to speak.

Alright since no one seemed to answer my concern earlier.
I've got a problem with my Nexus 4. Sometimes it just randomly shuts off after I put it to sleep and I can't turn it on with the power button. I have to hard reset by holding down the power button for a few seconds. I don't know if this is because of 4.3 but I flashed it using this method.
This has happened 4 times in the past few days. I've heard this is a "wake lock" issue that might have to do with Netflix as it has happened each time with the Netflix app open either in the background or running in the foreground.

Probably depends on the browser.
They're both correct though.
Tried to plug my Nexus 4 charger in at night. Is every one of them this weak?

I guess the holo gods don't like me, this phone and its counterparts have been on self destruct since the day I got it.
Just bend it back in to position.

Well they're inspired by nature. In this case, volcanoes.
