That Moto X was so hyped it put Apple's marketing to shame.
Its expensive, mid specced, its got carrier bloat, it doesn't look global, it's boot loader locked, it's already got out of date android, and it's got a carrier exclusive deal.
Got my Nexus 7 2013!
#holoswag
Had the Moto X had a unlocked bootloader, priced around $300 like it should be, had significantly less to no carrier bloat and could be guaranteed timely updates (I mean jesus christ Google owns Motorola) it could be a pretty slick phone. As it is, there's absolutely no reason for it to exist. It's being sold subsidized at the same price as a GS4 or HTC One and unsubsidized is near twice the price as the N4.
I like how Google spent mad dosh on Motorola and are doing fuck all with the company
I hope that Moto X always on Google voice search thing will be ported to other devices soon
Once it does, the Moto X will have absolutely no advantage over other $200 flagships

This guy's post is full of good points.
When will Google come out and tell us the Moto X Play Store price?

so 600
Does anyone have any idea if it would be possible to tether my phone's wifi connection (not 3g/4g, as it has no service) to my computer? I pick up great wifi reception from my phone, but not on my PC, so I would like to basically tether bridge my phone's wifi to my computer. Is anyone here aware of a method to do such a thing? It would be incredibly appreciated.

afaik the radio can only handle massive amounts of up or down, but not both
whenever i've used tethering, it turns off wifi and uses that wifi to create the hotspot
Has anyone else had a problem with the play store? After 4.3 it just says "No connection - Retry" and pressing retry does nothing at all.
[editline]2nd August 2013[/editline]
Forgot to mention this is a Nexus 4.

This problem is getting bigger the more stuff I do. I updated 2 days ago and have had no problems until this moment.
Everything that connects to the internet that's not chrome just doesn't connect at all.

I've done nothing except restart the phone (because of that Netflix and 4.3 freezing thing).
aaaaand now it's all working again. I did absolutely nothing to break or fix it.

In light of a lot of recent rumors and some things like HTC's first ever loss, I wrote some analysis. My conclusion is that metal unibodies are dead or dying, and that this is the beginning of the shift to the PC-industry endgame.
TL;DR I think the One is the end of an era.

Moto X only availible to the US, once again Google has fucked the over the international market,
first with the GE edition phones
then with the chromecast
now with the mother fucking moto X
I just went to my local shops and checked first N7 for myself.
It's so amazingly well built and looks great.
Is second one any better?

Very much so.
Well shit, I want it even more now.
But have to wait until late September when it'll be released in Europe and hopefully Russia as well. Not that I can try to order it now through intermediaries from US, but I don't want to bother with that, plus I don't have a normal credit card and money atm.

As an owner of both let me tell you that the new one looks and feels a lot more professionally & solidly built when compared to the old one.
Made a pretty cool looking photosphere yesterday although it deleted itself off my phone for some reason. Good thing I've got Cloud Drive.
I need to try photosphere when I am out somewhere, rather than in my bedroom. Most of the time they don't work though, this one kind of did though.

They take a really long time to make and you kind of look stupid circling around with your phone in a public place. Also I forgot to turn on GPS so it wouldn't let me upload it from my phone directly so I had to upload it from my computer to Google.
Also some of you may already know this, but in 4.3, photosphere stitching was improved a lot so you should get less visual artifacts.
And remember to turn yourself around the phone ("phone is the sun, you are earth" kind of thing) to eliminate visual artifacts even more.
why is the google maps arrow always pointing in the wrong direction
Did that on CyanogenMod for me on my Nexus 4. Doesn't do it on stock.
It's pointing at the nearest treasure chest.

wow that curved glass is a terrible idea, it's ergonomic sure, but still.

Will this also be a webservice to find it? In case you don't have another Android device?
