the Moba pro controller is great, it came with a little kickstand/easel for tablets but it's perfect to lay my phone sideways in while I'm in bed
So, I can't sideload an APK because, when I touch them, pocketcasts tries to open them then crashes. I'm kinda getting pissed. [editline]14th August 2013[/editline] nvm. Have to go through the files app instead off the downloads app.
Fuck, what is this LG G2 and why is it named the same as the HTC Desire Z/T-Mobile G2.. What do you guys think of it? I'm still rocking my G2 on CM10.1 wound out to almost twice the stock clocks and it's just not cutting it for me anymore since it's slow as shit. It came stock with Froyo and I bought it the month of release 3 years ago like next month. I'm looking for LTE support on T-mobile which the Nexus 4 I was interested in doesn't properly do. The One and the S4 do it but are a tad spendy. Should I just hold out a few more months since Key Lime Pie is supposed to come out and the Nexus phone will be refreshed?
Klp won't be out for a while seeing as we're only just getting on 4.3.
I just I fucking wut.
I hate it when people say Android is better than iOS. iOS is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy more structured and reliable than any android OS ever. And honestly, I don’t care that I can control an S4 by hovering my hand over it, or by using my eyes. When will I ever use that? Yeah, it’s cool and futuristic, but before coming out with new things, you have to fix what’s already broken (every android phone out there.) Samsung phones crash like no other. So do pretty much all of the other ones, too. It’s partly the OS, but also the phones can’t even handle certain things for an extended period of time. My Dad’s phone would crash every time he went to play solitaire— a very low profile game— so he switched to an iPhone and has had no problems with it. So yeah. And the OS is just completely faulty. There are way too many holes within it that allow for bugs and crashes. My friend is a huge supporter of Samsung because she likes Korean things. (I do too, but that’s not the point). She got a Galaxy S3 around Christmas 2012, it hasn’t even been a year yet and she’s had to get 3 replacements for the one she bought. The camera on her first one stopped working; on her second one, the screen’s back light dimmed and something else caused her colors to have a blue-green tint. And i don’t even know what happened to the third one. And on each phone, she’s had OS issues. Yet still claims to love her phone, yet we were driving and she was like “I HATE MY PHO—” and stopped because she knew I’d call victory for Apple. So what if the GS4 has more processing power? It needs it to run the useless (and faulty) features and faulty OS that is called Android. (My friend Alex got a GS4 recently and he was trying to show how to use the hovering scroll thing, and it kept lagging and wouldn’t work.) So when you get down to it, it runs just about as fast as Apple’s A-chips in their phones. But the thing with iOS devices and the lower-processing speed is that the OS and the phone don’t even require all of the processor so they are faster since less RAM is needed.
So should I just get a Nexus 4, deal with the HSPA and miss out on the LTE networks? I'm kinda hoping to pick up another device which I will keep for 2-3 years.

Does anyone know of a desktop-sized background that looks like this one from stock android? [t]http://i.imgur.com/gnlXitF.jpg[/t]

Successfully installed the GE firmware on my HTC One! I just really wish there was a way to use the IR blaster because it's functional but there's no decent app that can use it.
here have a crappy little doodle [T]http://i.imgur.com/AIYUtvL.png[/T]
Successfully installed the GE firmware on my HTC One! [editline]15th August 2013[/editline]
here have a crappy little doodle [T]http://i.imgur.com/AIYUtvL.png[/T]
Should have drawn Facebook as an obese couch whale and have the droid say to it "Okay lets go" and the Facebook briefly stops eating from its big bag of chips to say "In a sec". Or basically something like that.
Oh boy CM10.2 for Galaxy Note. But due to bugs like YT crashing, double booting and play store not able to download apps I want to go back to CM10.1. I still have in Cyanogenmod updates a CM10.1 zip, can I "simply" downgrade, flash gapps for 4.2 and have everything working again?

Many update scripts wipe parts of the phone when flashing such as /system so it is safe to upgrade/downgrade a lot of the time
Work is getting me a free phone. Do I get the S4 and have it tomorrow (overnight shipping) or do I hold out for the HTC One to come to Verizon? The "biggest problem" I see with the One after a quick glance is the camera. I'm going to be honest I take a lot of pictures but have never depended on a phone to be a quality camera.
If I'm not mistaken, I think the One has one of the best cameras on an android phone. I'm fairly certain I read that somewhere. Yeah, here we go. http://www.androidcentral.com/megapixels-ultrapixels-samsung-galaxy-s4-versus-htc-one-camera-shootout

You can't take every picture in normal mode.
Thanks for the advice guys, I'm leaning toward the HTC. Someone play devil's advocate and convince me to get the S4.
Get the S4. [sp]Not really. HTC One speakers. That is all.[/sp]
does anyone actually use their phone speakers regularly
If I'm not mistaken, I think the One has one of the best cameras on an android phone. I'm fairly certain I read that somewhere. Yeah, here we go. http://www.androidcentral.com/megapixels-ultrapixels-samsung-galaxy-s4-versus-htc-one-camera-shootout
That reviewer has no idea what they are talking about. They tout the "more even exposure and accurate colors" of the One when in reality it has more blown out highlights and an incorrect whitebalance. They also compare shots with the S4 that supposedly show off the One's better low light performance; however, the Gs4 and One are metered against two different points so all it shows is that the One blows out it's highlights and the Gs4 doesn't. But again, they were metered differently so the point is moot. They also constantly talk about the One's more "realistic" shots which has no bearing whatsoever on the quality of the camera and honestly what one person thinks is realistic another might find too cartoony, or too saturated or wahsed out. It is a fairly biased review by someone who doesn't fully grasp how to compare cameras equally.
does anyone actually use their phone speakers regularly
All the time, actually. A big pet peeve with my Razr Maxx is when I'm trying to watch a video or listen to music but unless it's perfectly silent in the room you can't hear anything.
It is a fairly biased review by someone who doesn't fully grasp how to compare cameras equally.
I can wholeheartedly say that this review sold me on the S4's camera. The review is nitpicking little things to knock down the s4's performance whilst tooting the HTC's horn whenever possible (sometimes even against any semblance of good judgement). Also the macro shots were all from more than two feet away and didn't use the utility properly. It isn't THAT you're taking pictures of little things, it's how. (also S4 doesn't have a 'macro mode', it just naturally allows for near-focus, which wasn't utilized at all)
A friend who fixes phones for a living just told me to avoid the HTC like the plague. Anyone have similar experiences?
All the time, actually. A big pet peeve with my Razr Maxx is when I'm trying to watch a video or listen to music but unless it's perfectly silent in the room you can't hear anything.
The HTC One's camera is better at indoor and lower light situations, but other than that the S4 is generally better at taking pictures. On that note, if you consume a lot of media on the couch or do a lot of chores around the house (like me) then you should seriously consider the HTC One. The fact that you don't need to cup your hands for the audio because of the front-facing stereo speakers is godly, and I can listen to the radio with better and louder sound quality than from my laptop while doing stuff around the house. [editline]15th August 2013[/editline]
A friend who fixes phones for a living just told me to avoid the HTC like the plague. Anyone have similar experiences?
It's mostly because of how the phone is built that makes it a nightmare to repair if something gets broken.
And HTC also apparently has terrible customer support. (Example: http://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/1kd2gt/why_ill_never_buysupport_htc_again/ ). Although this may be regional/rare. I for example have terrible experience with Samsung warranty repairs, although most people say it's pretty good. And I would be VERY VERY afraid of HTC abandoning software support very soon.
