So, I've got a friend who's gonna be spending a semester in France and breaks with her family in the Netherlands. She was thinking about getting AT&T's overseas service, but a semester of that is gonna cost a fortune. She has the unlocked N4, so I suggested that she get a prepaid SIM for europe. What's a good vendor with high data caps and good service I could suggest? Remember, it has to be international.
If she's only going to be in France and the Netherlands, wouldn't it be much, much cheaper to get two prepaid sims, one for each country?
Well I just bought the 2013 32gb Nexus 7 and holy shit the screen is stunning.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/m5fbRw4.png[/t] Lowered my DPI by 80 aw yeah A few very minor visual oddities here and there in Samsung apps but nothing bad at all
If she's only going to be in France and the Netherlands, wouldn't it be much, much cheaper to get two prepaid sims, one for each country?
Well, I think she's also doing side trips to other places.
I was invited when I first installed and opened chrome.
I had it on my N7, but when I went and did a factory reset to root the thing I no longer had it. Isn't high DPI a good thing?
What does lowering the DPI accomplish? Isn't high DPI a good thing?
There is a variable in Android called "LCD Density". The more you lower it, the higher the DPI gets. I am assuming he dropped LCD Density from 320 to 240 or something and that's what he's talking about. It makes everything smaller and you can fit more stuff on your screen.
I always thought it meant connected to Wifi access point but no available internet connection, guess you can pretty much assume you don't have an internet connection if you can't connect to google services.
Yeah, it's about connection to Google services.
Google not liking them and trying to make them disappear isn't an argument against the need for them..
There's way too many arguments against it. MicroSD dies regularly, people in this thread have reported failures before where just everything is gone for no reason. It's a horrible standard and needs to die.

I just bought a Nexus 7 2nd gen. 32gb. I just had a quick question about the battery, should I let it die fully before charging it for it's first few charges?

Just keep your device as charged as possible whenever possible and the OS should protect it from bad things automatically.
Sure it's unreliable but I'd rather have expandable storage than none any fucking day of the week Never remove the option, replace it with a better alternative.
The better option is more internal storage, there's just no other reasonable answer. Unless microSD is suddenly going to have incredible RAM. (Edit: LOL RAM. NAND.) [editline]21st August 2013[/editline]
No, this is a bad thing to do. If it's fully charged, unplug it.
Samsung GS2 (I9100). Apparently the UK doesn't have the 4.1.2 Samsung official firmware yet, only branded ones from O2, T-mobile, Orange etc. Leaves me to believe that Virgin are using someone else's firmware as they use T-mobile and Orange antennas. [editline]20th August 2013[/editline] Oh wait... "The phones which Virgin Mobile use are listed under United Kingdom / Ireland (XEU)." Virgin use unbranded software apparently.
http://www.hotfile.com/dl/225703324/0b8b43b/I9100XWLSW_I9100XEULS5_XEU.zip.html

Battery philosophy. Can't I just charge every night and be done with it?
Battery philosophy. Can't I just charge every night and be done with it?
Yep. Just charge at night, unplug during the day. Don't charge at night and then never unplug it for days.
the problem is that expandable storage has terrible user permissions (multiuser) and google didn't want a clusterfuck of file pickers to pop up every time
I mainly use it from DCIM and music. Something that requires no permissions at all. Google is just lazy as fuck as always. [editline]22nd August 2013[/editline]
used the new youtube for the first time today holy shit its nice, surprisingly nice but it still is retarded about pausing and skipping sometimes
Yeah, and the fact that it looks 144p with HQ off and 240p with HQ on. All it needs is holo theme (fucking theme settings please), actual quality options (480/720/1080), and screen off playback (listening to video with screen off).

My Nexus 4 (4.3) keeps randomly restarting on me. Anyone else having that issue? Anyway to see what is causing it or any suggested fixes?
My Nexus 4 (4.3) keeps randomly restarting on me. Anyone else having that issue? Anyway to see what is causing it or any suggested fixes?
I had that this morning (CM10.2 dirty flash), gone now after an update. I think it was sleepbot crashing my phone though, it kept hanging on that app.
Latest Google Maps update fixed that broken GPS direction pointer. Although I do miss that accuracy information.
Fun fact; Philadelphia, aka where I live, was rated the worst town in America in cellphone thefts.
