I just got a Samsung Note 2. Does anyone know of a way to link it to your PC/laptop and use it as a drawing tablet? It'd be really neat if you could use it in Photoshop or something.
Neat idea but I'm not sure if there is/if it would be practical. I imagine there'd be a noticable input delay. One option could be using an app like Splashtop to remotely control your PC and photoshop, but it would still be from the phone screen and I doubt it would support pen pressure.

Unfortunately, it doesn't cover my whole screen, so I have to move the cursor to the area I want to work on, but it's nifty. I will take a look at Splashtop too.
The rollouts are pretty erratic. Maybe a staggered release helps server loads or something?
Probably that. Imagine if all compatible android phones called home at the same time. Poor server
I got my Galaxy S4 yesterday. Really amazing phone. The quality of the camera is really blowing me away after using my Galaxy Nexus camera for the last year. So much detail. I tried using touchwiz for a bit but couldn't do it. Ended up sticking CM10.2 on it and all is well. I do miss the camera app, but I can deal with it. The only thing I can't stand about the phone is the glossy plastic back which makes my hands feel gross. Buying a super thin case to cover the back took care of that issue, though. Once the week starts I can test the battery life, but I'm extremely pleased with it so far.
Loads of 2013 Nexus 7s got delivered to work the other day I sat in the warehouse and played with one for about an hour haha

My mate installed it on his S4 and it is easily the best of both worlds.
I'm having a problem with my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 16Gb. It won't boot or show any signals of charging. After going trough the steps found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1130574] I've found out that it's got a locked boot loader, so I need another way around it. Anyone here know of a way to get my tablet alive?
so, i'm planning on getting an hp slate 7 for my next tablet tell me facepunch, how is it?
Probably that. Imagine if all compatible android phones called home at the same time. Poor server
actually its so that if they break something that can cancel the rollout
Probably that. Imagine if all compatible android phones called home at the same time. Poor server
Just as LordCrypto said above, it's to protect the users, if an OTA starts breaking something, only a fraction of the users will be affected. if it doesn't, they slowly increase the amount of people that get the OTA notification until everyone gets it. I imagine Google is one of the very few companies who has the needed server structure to make an instant rollout possible even for a major Android update (5.0) with a more than pleasant downloading speed, but they chose not to, to protect the users.
so, i'm planning on getting an hp slate 7 for my next tablet tell me facepunch, how is it?
save another $80 and get the new nexus 7
I'm planning on switching out my old flip phone for a new android after enjoying this z2 so much, any suggestions for a 'business lite" phone?
so, i'm planning on getting an hp slate 7 for my next tablet tell me facepunch, how is it?
Absolutely horrendous, don't waste your money http://www.androidcentral.com/hp-slate-7-review & http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/02/24/mwc-2013-hands-on-with-the-hp-slate-7-its-just-another-cheap-tablet-you-shouldnt-buy/ really say it all: slow, terrible screen, terrible speakers, terrible tablet. Spend the extra cash and buy the new Nexus 7.
holy shit the screen resolution is just awful. yeah, i should probably save my money for something better. but i'm trying to go for a budget tablet, so i have a list for some other tablets i'm thinking about. hisense sero 7 pro: http://hisense-usa.com/tablets/sero7pro memopad hd 7: https://www.asus.com/Tablets_Mobile/ASUS_MeMO_Pad_HD_7/ acer iconia tab: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Acer-Iconia-Tab-with-WiFi-7-Touchscreen-Tablet-PC-Featuring-Android-4.1-Jelly-Bean-Operating-System-Gray-Refurbished/23662167
The main thing that turned me off the one was one of the drop tests I watched, the front bezel pieces don't like impacts... at all... So I dunno.
i would suggest not dropping your phone
Any way to get the vlc app in the US?
i would suggest not dropping your phone
what if it's an accidental drop
Is there a way to automatically fix the phone number formatting of my Google contacts? I have some contacts that are (666) 555-4444, some are 6665554444 and some are +16665554444. For some contacts, they even have the same number twice with different formats. [editline]24th August 2013[/editline]
what if it's an accidental drop
If you drop your smartphones, get a Samsung Galaxy Rugby
what if it's an accidental drop
those happen, but not getting the phone because there is a possibility of something breaking if it is mistreated is kind of stupid

Drop tests are nearly worthless for phones imo. Too many variables in play to make any assumptions after a single drop, and no reviewer ever really drops more than one. Just assume that if you drop a non-special smartphone, it's dead/shattered. If it isn't when you pick it up, you got lucky.
what if it's an accidental drop
Seriously, just get a case if you don't want your phone to break.
Should have gone with FoxHound ROM. My mate installed it on his S4 and it is easily the best of both worlds.
I'm going to try this now. Seems to be a pretty good mix.
Dirty flash caused all kinds of issues on my S3, did a clean flash now, hoping the dirty flash is what caused the issues and the ROM isn't just too unstable for day to day use.
Seriously, just get a case if you don't want your phone to break.
got my phone about two weeks ago with this case and i haven't ever dropped it since. believe me, there's no way i'm gonna let my phone hit the ground.
Or just be careful, I've never used a case since I've began with the smartphone craze in 2006 and I'm fine since
At least with me its probably just a need to feel my phone is safe. I don't drop mine often but still want the assurance that it will stay safe, that and it is an unlocked phone without any insurance so if I break it that's $350 gone
Fuck cases man. Live life on the edge. Also I need a new phone. Mine is broken.
Or just be careful, I've never used a case since I've began with the smartphone craze in 2006 and I'm fine since
Same. Been using smartphones since 2007, never had anything break from handling/dropping.
I've had shit break but I have also been buying shitty cases, so... Occam's razor and all...
