So yeah, still stuck with my problem with CWM being broken, however I managed to boot my phone into the ROM, can I "flash" a working CWM while the phone is booted up?
Nexus 4, it's unlocked obviously, but GiffGaff if that matters.
Yeah, must be some minor bug fixes. Heard there were some issues with LTE reception on the 4.3 update for the Nexus 4 which they probably fixed now.
The Samsung Sidekick 4G has a pretty cool hinge, too bad it's a piece of shit
Yeah it does but it still has the issue with too many keys spaced all funky too.
SwiftKey just makes using a physical keyboard look bad
Yeah maybe if your physical keyboard sucks. I still haven't met a single person who can type faster using swype/autocorrect keyboards let alone properly format and punctuate the text. The second you type a word that it doesn't understand and accidentally expect it to actually know it becomes you having to force the word into it. I've tried to use these things far too many times and too often still it doesn't know what you're actually saying or puts and the wrong fucking words thus no longer being helpful. Yeah, they're actually usable now and doing your basic texting is simple as hell but writing this post would take easily twice as long and 3 times the effort and finger movement to get the same result. That's even giving it the benefit of not messing up words and the user not knowing how to spell a specific word or two correctly.
get to fastboot mode fastboot flash recovery recovery.zip [editline]27th August 2013[/editline] also use twrp, twrp is way better than cwm from what i've heard
I am using Cyanogenmod, which uses CWM.. so basically I will have CWM in the end again. Also no idea what fastboot mode is..
Nexus 4, it's unlocked obviously, but GiffGaff if that matters.
GiffGaff?? I thought that was a comedy site. Oh wait, that's JibJab. [editline]27th August 2013[/editline]
I am using Cyanogenmod, which uses CWM.. so basically I will have CWM in the end again. Also no idea what fastboot mode is..
No, Cyanogen doesn't need CWM. It'll leave TWRP alone if you flash TWRP. The easiest way to flash TWRP from your phone is to download GooManager (from Play Store), then in GooManager go to the menu and select "Install OpenRecoveryScript".
no, giffgaff is the one with the awesome bandwidth deals. seriously awesome.
no, giffgaff is the one with the awesome bandwidth deals. seriously awesome.
British I'm guessing? Of course it's British with the ridiculous name.
wrong CM doesn't require cwm, it only installs it by default. [editline]27th August 2013[/editline] do what shaunofthelive said to flash twrp
And so from there I can flash the latest CM nightly on it and be on my way? Edit: GooManager tells me there are no recoveries found on my device
And so from there I can flash the latest CM nightly on it and be on my way?
then you can install cyandelta and never worry about updates ever again creds to inacio for the hot tip
then you can install cyandelta and never worry about updates ever again creds to inacio for the hot tip
Seems there is no recovery from Goomanager that is compatible with my device.. well then anything else that I could try? Edit: Alright fixed it.
Yeah, must be some minor bug fixes. Heard there were some issues with LTE reception on the 4.3 update for the Nexus 4 which they probably fixed now.
Shouldn't LTE be disabled on the Nexus 4 anyway, without using custom stuff?
Shouldn't LTE be disabled on the Nexus 4 anyway, without using custom stuff?
My bad, it was reception after all. I was going to say that first, but then I hesitated for some reason.
I decided I'm going to buy an HTC Desire HD as my next phone if my dad decides to change his mind about giving me his 4s instead. Anyone know how well it overclocks and if there's a CM10.1 port?
uy can get a nexus 4 16gb for £199/ $249
My bad, it was reception after all. I was going to say that first, but then I hesitated for some reason.
I thought this current update rolling out was for the security fix that was reported a week ago
Nexus 4 is now $199 on Google play
Nexus 4 is now $199 on Google play
Probably the best budget phone you can get
my inventory clearing senses are tingling
my inventory clearing senses are tingling
You're right. Something new is coming.
nexus 4 is at least 5 worse than the nexus 10, come on sheeple
My N7 has had this problem for the last few months. It's essentially what happens in this video. Though it seems to happen at random times without me doing anything to cause it. It's really fucking annoying, any way to fix it without having to do a factory reset?

My nexus 7 got that patch today
Anyone got a new update? Says it's 4.3 still, probably just bug fixes. Need to wait for my phone to charge up first before I can install it.
It's just s very minor bug f fixing update. Fixes one security flaw and some very minor bugs. Search for JWR66Y if you want to know more. The signal issue Cree8ive mentioned is not fixed yet, but there's rumors about a new update (possibly 4.3.1) happening soon.
Wait for the new Nexus 4 or buy it anyway
Wait for the new Nexus 4 or buy it anyway
imo i'd say wait
imo i'd say wait
Thinking that, just hope that Google adds 4G and 32gb storage tbh
Thinking that, just hope that Google adds 4G and 32gb storage tbh
4g is tricky because each carrier uses different 4g frequencies and they don't want an unlocked phone to swap to their competitor
