screen quality discussion in 3, 2, 1...
That Nexus 4 deal is cruel, I've only had my 8s for ~6 months. Damn you Google
My Brothers N4 screen looks fine and on the reviews I watched it didn't look shitty, honestly I've used screens that suck and its never a turnoff to me, I just care about performance, the camera and battery life and that's why the N4 seems perfect for me
I have no issues going from my Nexus 7 2013 and my Nexus 4 in terms of display.
I don't know about the camera and battery life but the performance is pretty fucking good.
If I can get through 7 hours that's all I really need, in terms of camera I know it's a little eh but I've heard there's numerous amounts of tweaks and also just adding effects makes it look better
7 hours of screen on time? or 7 hours in general?
I have no issues going from my Nexus 7 2013 and my Nexus 4 in terms of display.
After writing this I just saw this image on Android Central. I guess the Nexus 4 display quality is random because mine isn't green in the Pocket Casts app drawer or anywhere else.
7 hours of screen on time? or 7 hours in general?
in general, the most I do in a day is send some text, check facebook, and browse the web occassionally, I never play games unless it's on my tablet
screen quality discussion in 3, 2, 1...
I've used the Galaxy S Fascinate for about two years and was perfectly fine with it. I then switched to a Galaxy S4 for a few months and turned on the Fascinate for shits and giggles. I found the screen abso-fucking-lutely unbearable. I can see the pentile now, and it can't be unseen. I feel like Neo did when he first awoke except I wish I could unsee it.

That Pressy thing will be a bitch with the Nexus4, it's headphone socket is sloped......will make it easy to get out but shit for looks.
This day, my birthday, is the day that one of my devices goes forwards and the other backwards. I installed 4.3 on my One because fuck yeah. I got an S Pen with eraser for my birthday, and that shit doesn't work with cyanogenmod. So I installed stock, with 4.1.2. I thought Samsung promised to keep that shit up to date? edit: oh fucking god I now remember how terrible touchwiz is. Save me lord Duarte. Well at least my S Pen eraser works.

Mine luckily isn't like that either, and looks pretty damn awesome. [editline]30th August 2013[/editline]
in general, the most I do in a day is send some text, check facebook, and browse the web occassionally, I never play games unless it's on my tablet
For the last few days I'm able to get 4:00 to 4:30 of screen on time with a total battery life of roughly 24 hours. BUT I saw a lot of people who bought the phone in the last month or so who get around 5 hours and even more total time on one charge, so it's possible that the very latest revision got improved somewhere.
Well I backed my first kickstarter ever... Pressy, obviously. I hope it doesn't turn out to be vaporware like a lot of kickstarters.
Fuck fuck fuck how do I disable S Pen gestures. Touchwiz is overriding shit from Papyrus. I can't find an option to disable it
Fuck fuck fuck how do I disable S Pen gestures. Touchwiz is overriding shit from Papyrus. I can't find an option to disable it
Go to Quick Command settings and disable them (protip they should only work when you press the button)
Go to Quick Command settings and disable them (protip they should only work when you press the button)
That's not what I mean. Samsung steals S Pen button events from apps and make them go through some bullshit API instead of the normal ICS API. The result is that apps can't detect the S Pen when the button is pressed unless they use the Samsung touch listener. I cannot use the S Pen side button in Papyrus. To be honest, nearly every major community color preset seems WAY too dark on the N4 for me. Makes it very hard to see the screen in the light. Even though the colors seem better, it's just too dark.
I would advise against matte screen protectors, they make the screen look like shit in my opinion. [editline]30th August 2013[/editline] Though I bought ones that were cheap as hell.
They do make your screen look a bit worse, but they feel like sex. Seriously on a tablet they are the best accessory you can get. I got one for my tf300t and it makes it so much better to use. Your finger glides over the screen like fucking butter. No fingerprints either. [editline]30th August 2013[/editline] Also bought a one. Its pretty nice.

Android apparently now plays music via a daemon and resuming playback just saturates the shit out of everything for one second, has anybody else got this issue?
They do make your screen look a bit worse, but they feel like sex.
aroused by a matte sticker for phones
So I had my Nexus at lunch today and showed it to a friend. He browsed around amazed at Android and then found the Google Voice Search app. He searched "show me penis" and it worked the first time. Google Search technology right there! Also the guy across the table asked me what the phone was called and happened to actually have a Galaxy Nexus (on Verizon unfortunately)
Is there a way to turn my S3 into a wireless speaker for my Windows 7 machine? Running CM10.1 if that helps
