Oh god, school wifi. I miss it. We had it but few months ago they turned it off, leaving only 2-3 with password on. When I asked the director replied that it's an issue with the company that provides it. School Wi-Fi , I hardly knew you [*]
So apparently, the problem with the media process was something in my internal storage, but since I already eliminated the sound and picture files, it was some file that the process shouldn't have been trying to read in the first place..
Regardless, now I have to look through my files and see if one of them's broken.
My college has WiFi but it's only accessible via a computer
My college has wifi which is kind of crap.

My second high school didn't have wifi at all sadly, which pissed me off a lot as it was in the blackzone for mobile reception.
First high school the wifi password was the name of the school and was completely unrestricted.

Change user agent or use computer as a repeater

I'm assuming he needs a NAC client that only runs in Windows or such. And using a PC as a repeater probably isn't really all that convenient, when you might as well use the PC.

Yeah, that makes sense. My college uses a captive portal, which has its own problems but still works most of the time on mobile. But I wish there were a protocol where you could just provide an individual username and password directly in the handshake.
yep, home+power+volume down gets you into download mode, the same but with volume up gets you into the recovery
That only works when your phone isn't fucked.
When it's fucked you can un-fuck it with a USB jig.

I know my old one had an encrypted one where it used wpa enterprise (or something idk) so you would always be logged in
[editline]8th May 2013[/editline]
you entered username/password when you connected to the wifi
My college uses 802.1x EAP + PEAP with credentials for their wifi.
What's pretty cool is they have this collaboration with other colleges and uni's where they provide access to their network with the login of your own college/uni. Same SSID and authentication and I guess my college account credentials are shared (I hope in a secure way) with the other colleges and uni's in the collaboration. All throughout the country I can get on wifi networks of colleges and uni's if they're part of the colab.
literally a week until we find out about google babel
Please for the love of god have SMS support
Just bought the S4. I am having an issue and can't connect to my wireless repeater. It just gets stuck at obtaining IP address.
Every other device can connect fine. I'm new to android, so is there any way I can figure out why this is happening?

How many WiFi devices are connected at one time to that router? I had a SpeedStream ADSL router that wouldn't let more than 3 or 4 devices on the wifi
Every wi-fi I've ever connected my phone to (barring the house wi-fi) has always redirected your traffic to a log in page before you can access the general Internet.
At my high school, you needed to log in with your username/password, the same one you used to log into the computers, the online grades, etc etc etc. I have to admit, for all the flak I gave them, they really knew how to hook Windows Domain logins into a lot of shit.
At the grocery store, the Staples, and I think the community college, all I have to do is click continue, since they only wanted to know if I had read the ToS for their wi-fi or not.
So I tried flashing my t-mobile S2 to CM 10.1 RC1, but every time I go to 10.1 I lose data, and connection to T-mobile. Everything else works fine, and wifi works for data, but I still have no mobile data, or calling.
Any pointers? I want to get off 10.0 :suicide:

I have no idea how to do that, but I'll backup my current rom, flash to 10.1 again and see if google can help me out

it's basically, don't expect any privacy, this is open, anyone can sniff your data, we are not liable for x, y, z to whatever happens to your devices or you...

the thing i always want to do is set up a router with wireshark outside of a starbucks with more power than theirs and call it att-wifi. iphones connect automatically (i don't know if it's just "oh look ssid = ATT-Wifi" or there's a list). If it just connects to anything named att-wifi, hello facebook password, credit card info, etc

Okay, so I found a couple of different options for t-mobile there,
StraightTalk T-mobile: wap.tracfone
T-Mobile US: epc.tmobile.com
T-Mobile US LTE: fast.t-mobile.com
on 10.0, only t-mobile us showed up. None of them give me data, though.

Settings>More>Mobile networks> Access point names.
Google t-mobile APN settings then read through that and put it in to your phone.

Oh you figured it out

Yeah I googled the settings, but they still didn't work, and it keeps restarting on random when opening some menus. Think I'll probably stick to 10.0
My Nexus 4 came! I've already done some things on it, but does anyone know any must have apps or settings?

Root and put bigfoot rom along with trinity kernel.
Great ROM along with some really decent battery life from the kernel.
Must have apps: Chrome beta, keep, swiftkey (I think this applies to most phones). Then whatever else takes you fancy. I would recommend Accuweather for a weather app.
I'd recommend Swype for a keyboard and Eye in Sky Weather for a weather app, but each to their own.
Also, root and ROM only after you feel like you know enough to recover if you fuck up.
am i the only one that actually prefers the stock aosp keyboard to swiftkey/swype?

my schools wifi allows facebook and everything because my school board is pretty social, facebook pages, twitters, etc. so there's really no point in blocking. And lot's of people use facebook to communicate and do group projects and such.
