I wouldn't mind something like MIUI. It's clean and simple, without looking bland. Tempted to flash MIUI on my S3 again now.
I dunno, I love Holo (well, not much the "true holo" black and blue, but holo blue elements with light backgrounds, or the card style that google is slowly switching its apps to). To me, iOS looked too cheesy (not a fan of skeuomorphism, I guess?), now it looks too childish/made for teenagers. And Windows Phone is way too basic and kind of annoying with the giant tiles for everything. Regarding MIUI: I feel like it was good back when we had Android 2.3. But it never really improved much and now looks kinda stale. If I had to pick an alternative look that I like besides stock Android, I think it would be Flyme 3.0, seen on the Meizu MX3. It's like iOS7 and Android 4+ had a kid, and for some reason doesn't look half bad. edit: added link to Flyme 3.0.
Cards are mobile UI's savior. No kidding. Holo and Cards make for incredubly grown-up UIs (as apposed to iOS giant play-dough buttons), yet it's still incerdibly friendly for screen real estate (especially with the side-nested menus). Google's use of a set of primary and secondary colors keep things looking really clean, too. Even on the desktop. I was switching back and forth between Facebook, Tumblr, and G+ on my computer yesterday, and Facebook looks like dogshit by comparison. Tumblr is pretty clean, but G+ is crazy nice looking.
metro ui master race
FUCK YOUR TILES!!! [sp]Actually, I like Metro on bigger screens. 15+ inches or so.[/sp]
Z1 ... It's ... Perfect o.o
It is awful pretty. I just hate Sony's skin. Play edition, maybe?
It is awful pretty. I just hate Sony's skin. Play edition, maybe?
Not sure if I would have given up all those software features put into this phone, even though I'm a HOLO fan.
The Verge reports that the Z1 still has a cheap screen. Why does Sony do this.
Not sure if I would have given up all those software features put into this phone, even though I'm a HOLO fan.
I haven't seen any sttories, just pictures. I don't know what software features it has.
I haven't seen any sttories, just pictures. Anyone seen this? Is it worth getting?
comes with a free portal to hipsterverse
and preinstalled Instagram.
I find the concept of Instagam hilarious. You phone photos are shitty quality, so the solution is to gargle filters and barf all over it. Makes sense! The filters are all so easily recognizable, too.
Also this has got to be one of the biggest cross promotions in history.
[t]http://img1.lesnumeriques.com/news/27/27258/Doritosgate.png[/t]
*halo nacho dew*
his face is basically "you can't be serious about this shit"
That Galaxy Gear seems interesting and it seems to be running Android, a custom launcher could make wonders on it just like on the MotoACTV [editline]4th September 2013[/editline] lol is samsung really making phones made out leather?
Its only the back panel that will be made of leather, quite fitting to be honest, as its designed as a notebook.
lol is samsung really making phones made out leather?
I used to have a BlackBerry Bold 9000 with a faux leather back, it was actually really nice. However, besides the back and the keyboard, I don't miss anything about that phone.
Good things about the Galaxy Gear: Super functional, looks super smooth. Bad things about the Galaxy Gear: $300, works only with Samsung devices running 4.3+, Baked in functionality with Touchwiz instead of real Android (no play store, only Samsung's app store), Amoled screen/camera/functionality will surely wreck battery life.
My Sony smartwatch is still better than this Galaxy Gear trash, yet people will buy it anyway. [editline]4th September 2013[/editline] [t]http://puu.sh/4j6br/ae278da8ce.png[/t] #holoyolo

"Fuck a Pebble that lasts 5 days on a single charge, displays all relevant notifications, and can be made even more functional with apps. I want something that says Samsung on it!"

"Fuck a Pebble that lasts 5 days on a single charge, displays all relevant notifications, and can be made even more functional with apps. The Samsung will probably do the same, but with less usage (and still nowhere near as readable as the Pebble in the sun.)

Does it [del]do all the bullshit[/del] have all the functionality of the GG? Like, i know it doesn't have the camera, but calls and stuff. If used, that'll be the killer.

If used, that'll be the killer.
It can be used to initiate calls, but there's no speaker, camera or mic on the watch itself. It's literally just a bluetooth connected screen with a vibration motor. Mostly bought it for easy notification monitoring since I have the definitive phablet which is pretty unwieldy, and it's good for that. Though all the apps for the Smartwatch run on the phone itself, so there's cool stuff like web browsers, calculators, games, remote camera, et cetera.

Little more functional than the Pebble because of the touchscreen. And all that's really necessary. The Dick Tracy bullshit the GG does is just ridiculous.
I can't think of a single instance where I'd want or need a camera on my watch, because it's going to be unequivocally shittier than the one on my smartphone camera, and if I'm wearing a Galaxy Gear, $10 says I have a smartphone in the vicinity. The sound functionality could make for some cool PTT and is probably 100% less dumb than a camera, but eh, Samsung: It's all about the number of features!

And I can't see using the speaker on this thing unless I'm alone. And the camera thing is ridiculous. You literally have to be looking down at your wrist to use it. Putting the angle below the user's neck makes it totally impractical in 75% of situations. The other 25%, you'll want more then a megapixel's worth of quality. Basically, it's for bathroom mirror selfies only. [sp]But it might look less stupid than bathroom mirror selfies with a tablet, so... that's a plus?[/sp]
i can see it as a convenient sexting camera hands free pics!!!
