I'm loving my Nexus 4 atm, haven't done much to it though
So in other words, what you're trying to say is that the test that I posted is also correct?
Also, I was referring to post #6687.

So we're back to where I was before; Anandtech is the only site with results that differ, even after these constraints are put into place.
What brightness level did they calibrate it to? I'm sorry, if it's not published how they did it, and what they set it to, what's the guarantee they actually did it and properly? Forgive my skepticism that some relatively unknown tech site has expensive calibration gear like colorimeters and spectrometers, and got completely different results performing the same tests a group of university grad computer engineers did. I just don't feel that's a valid citation with how little the info is. It's written at an Engadget level regarding terminology and explanation of procedure, just with that little line thrown in that makes it appear they did a better job.
Then I'm sure that you'll forgive my own skepticism as well, for all the reasons I've already listed.

This discussion will go in circles from here and out so I'm just going to make that my final thought and throw in the towel.

Haha I'm using LiquidSmooth for my Note 2. It's a pretty great ROM. There was a time I tried using ParanoidAndroid and it was horridly unstable, and that's an "Official" ROM. And LiquidSmooth has HALO and all that cool PA + CM stuff anyway.

How is battery life with LiquidSmooth?
How is battery life with LiquidSmooth?
Can't speak for the GS3 but on my Note with the stock kernel I can get all day battery life with about 6 hours of screen on with moderate brightness (just over half)

Nice, I'll flash it later and see

Yeah, the HTC One takes ages to charge, but it is worth it.
Plus you'll never worry about overcharging it
Nexus 4 arrived at some point today while I was sleeping it seems. Can't actually do shit with it until I get a SIM cutter though, so it gets to sit in the box for a few days.
Should probably charge it really.

My understanding is that it's better to charge slower, actually.
Need Nexus 5 now, ahhhhhhhh!
My understanding is that it's better to charge slower, actually.
I think it is too, but the HTC One might just take longer to charge because it has a larger than average battery.
My T-mobile contract is up in February. I don't want to stick with them unless they're the cheapest option, but the only plan they offer is unlimited talk and text with 250MB of "4G" speeds. That's $50/mo and if you want 2GB of data it's like 60-70/mo.
There's now no way to have like 500 minutes and maybe 500-1000 texts to save on cost.
What sort of deals does AT&T/sprint have? I'm not fucking with verizon.
If they're both shit I might just say fuck it and go prepaid because Straight Talk offers Unlimited talk/text and 2GB/mo for $45 which is what i'm paying on a family plan.

It's smaller than the S4's. The kernel must be limiting it.
The stock charger on the One is a little anemic. Use a 2.1a Nexus 4 charger and it'll be quick as... something quick.
So far my N7 works great, but I wonder if I should flash any custom stuff, like CyanogenMod or custom kernels. Or should I stick with stock?
These Nexus 5 renders look amazing

I know I've said this before, but yourr Username is boss.
That said, check out an MVNO like Ting. Ting is a pretty cheap reseller of Sprint.

I feel that way about Motorola's RAZR chargers. It won't even charge my external battery, I have to use my TF700 charger.
Kindle charger. Master charger.

At least it is much better than the LG, HTC, and Nokia ones I have used.
The Samsung ones my dad uses literally stopped working.
As a rule, I try not to mix and match chargers anymore when I can help it. I once used a tablet's charger with a phone. When I woke up the phone was burning hot and had a 0% charge.

Updated like three hours ago, today's nightly had already been pulled by then.

Hm, the ones that last long also take longer to recharge. No shit.

Is "time to recharge" even on the average consumer's radar when they're looking for a phone? I mean, generally people look for battery life. Once that need is met, recharge time is pretty much a non issue because most people charge their phones at night.
Right?

Weird, it's almost like a tech-oriented subforum has members that sperg out about stupid details at any given opportunity.

Sometimes your phone dies before to sleep, and no one likes to be tethered to a wall for long
held an xperia z ultra today
I think it's WiFi. The green bar is time charging.
[editline]6th September 2013[/editline]
No wait I think the blue line represents whichever of the blue ones is the largest. For example if you had wifi on all day it'll be wifi, have you had wifi off but your screen on all day it'll be screen on. Did you have something keeping your phone awake all day it'll be awake.
It's definitely not whichever one is the largest. It correlates to none of the other lines.
Is there really no documentation on this? Bad google
A green line appears beside it while charging so I'm beginning to think it's just a line that shows the time where you're on-battery. It doesn't go away while charging though, just accompanied by the green one.

Yeah, but if your battery lasts longer while it takes longer to charge, then you're still regaining battery lifetime at the same speed, it'll just take longer before you get to 100%.
