Got a quick question before I go to bed, is leaving your phone charging during the night bad for its battery health? I've heard overcharging is not good in the long run for phones like the Nexus without removable batteries so should I be concerned since I usually put it on the charger around 10 pm on weeknights and shut it off to charge until 6 in the morning in that low power state.
Generally LiIon batteries will fluctuate on the last 10%, turning off and on the flow, to avoid swell.
I'm using 4GB class 4 MicroSD because I can...
[sp]And because my phone has 256MB of internal flash[/sp]
Every time this thread gets slow, I'm scared it's been closed and I'm totally behind on the next one already.
Anyway, MSFT released the Xbox Music app on Play, if anyone cares.
It's fine, the battery never stays at 100%. As a safe guard, it lets itself discharge once reaching 100%, then once below 100% by a bit, it charges again.
This is true, but maintaining a high state of charge is just bad for the battery. 90+% for extended periods of time will kill it faster. I always recommend unplugging the phone once fully charged.
I spent like $50 last year on a 64GB µSD. Speeds are okay (around Class 10) but it hasn't failed on me yet. Also totally worth the price for the capacity.
Yeah, that's generally the "good enough" category. For truly "acceptable" NAND, you probably need to double that price, but that's when you need it for App2SD.
Either way, there is no free lunch.
I have a class 4 16GB and it's speedy enough to not cry about it and I can't really test longevity since it's been like, a week since I bought it.
Yeah I paid $20 for a Class 4 MicroSD, fight me. I ain't buying shit online since I'd probably get a counterfeit that would die in 6 months (see: the reason why everyone cries about SD cards)
Also I never realized the menu for the stock camera app is a tap and drag, now I hate it 100% less.
Well I'm late, but I bought a Class 10 PNY for 24 dollars.
A bit late to the homescreen circlejerk, but:

Does this bother anybody else?

Meh. I prefer the clarity of the white icons personally. Would be nice if they were a bit smaller but it's far from a deal breaker.

Hell. Yes.
I'm afraid I don't understand the question.
How about:

I know it doesn't solve the space issue but it fits better with the whole red theme going on.
I just dislike the misalignment of the icons. That one looks alright, but the circle battery just throws the icons way out in terms of alignment.

Everything is always out of whack. and besides that, battery icon blue is brighter than Wifi icon blue on my tablet and I HATE IT!
The black and red looks XDA disgusting to me however the battery savings on an OLED screen would be phenomenal
I do have a pretty damn custom status bar going on here.
If somebody can find me a red JB-style status bar theme I'll love you long time.

Well the only thing XDA is that clock widget and messaging app. Everything else is me.
I don't understand this irrational hate for XDA you guys have sometimes. They're not all 1337hax0r420noscope, you know. Most of them are honest enthusiast devs.

Almost all of them are honest devs. The only problem is when they have 0 artistic sense.

I purposely take AM/PM out, I use just battery percent, so I don't really experience those issues.

You should be able to remove a lot of the status bar icons that don't change for you, like the alarm button for me.
Yeah, it's coders with no design background. It just doesn't work.
I'm not saying there are absolutely no good designers there either. I'm just saying that there's a tremendous lack of design sense among the devs there.

Red themes don't look bad to me, they're just really hard to make consistent and any little inconsistency really shows in red.
Well then ViperOne must be one of the few ROMs that are designed extremely well. The red in this ROM is extremely tasteful. I kind of overdid it but the way it's shipped is extremely well done.
I wouldn't even look at any ROMs from those examples you guys posted. The bad design is usually indicative of some other potentially horrible decisions under the hood.
Aside from HTC's weird status bar arrangement, is there anything in the home screen that sticks out in a bad way?

Better?

That's actually pretty nice.

Sorry for spamming up the thread, but I've toned down the red a bit. Seems less "pretentious" now. Thoughts?

You get what you pay for, really.
If you want something close to good, you need to shell out for higher grade NAND. You get faster speeds as a result, but the really big part is better reliability.
It was on offer, orig price £20
