Don't buy an android tablet for work. That's like buying a penknife when you need a hatchet. I bought a Thinkpad X61 for £115 the other day. If you're really desperate you could even get an X61T that has touchscreen and pen input as well as silly resolution screens.
I still love my note 10.1 for its writing capabilities. I use it every day in University.

This is what truly distinguishes it as an OS from iOS imo
A couple of guys on my degree wrote up research papers on iPads. They both got referrals. I mean shit, it's not even like I'm doing a writing-heavy course (the longest essay we have to write tops out at like, 2k words or something) but I still need something that'll let me format and reference essays and bibliographies with minimum hassle. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it can't be done. It's not impossible in the same way it's not impossible to chop wood with a penknife.
I just don't think that's accurate. Again, for serious formatting and research, you'll want a computer. But if you're just drafting or taking notes, a laptop is absolute overkill.
I'm still using my patriot class 10 32gb. No problems so far for over a year I've used it.

I also prefer pen and paper for lecture notes but each to their own.

So its that time of year when my SGS2 turns 2 years old (19th), and with my three year contract cancelable after two years thanks to the CRTC, Bell is trying to get me to upgrade plans. The new 2yr plans from the big 3 are all terrible. I'm paying $65/mo for 6GB internet, unlimited texts and NA calling. They want to offer me the same but with 500mb for $80/mo. I pick up my N4 from the post office tomorrow and will continue with my 3yr plan thank you very much Bell.

Simplerockets [editline]10th September 2013[/editline] Whoa
Been using my new N7 a lot in and out of the house, and now my N4 seems so small......I want a Nexus Note now!
For some reason my Nexus 4 decided to delete every photo from my camera folder yesterday. Luckily they're all backed up but still, why? Actually maybe it was Clean Master. I hate it when those cache apps clean up way too much stuff, since now Google+ Auto Backup wants to restore everything twice.
turns out your phone doesn't work too well without gapps flashed like, keyboard won't even work not well. and can't get into the play store to install a new keyboard because there's no gapps!
It's more subtle when you flash gapps, but the wrong version. Things generally work but AOSP keyboard keeps crashing even if you don't actually have it selected as an active keyboard.

Just got my Tab 3, and I am really enjoying it so far.

http://lifehacker.com/how-to-cache-offline-maps-in-the-new-google-maps-for-an-729295083 [editline]10th September 2013[/editline] Just tried it myself and it does indeed work, as fake as it sounds. Don't ask me why it's a fucking hidden easter egg feature though :v:
It is now $629. Am I missing something?
It was on huge sale last night, they've sold out and gone back to the regular price now The corner of the screen was just "Somebody has bought a Galaxy S4" "Somebody has bought a Galaxy S4" "Somebody has bought a Galaxy S4" "Somebody has bought a Galaxy S4" "Somebody has bought a Galaxy S4"

Welp ViperOne was fun while it lasted but I'm not going to wait for them to pull their heads out of their asses and release a 4.3 ROM. Bluetooth sounds tragic in my car, something that 4.3 fixes. So TeamNocturnal's SinLess ROM it is. Google Edition. Pure Jelly Bean 4.3 + customizations. Will run ElementalX kernel. Wish me luck.
Does the package tracking card in google now ever work I have an email in my gmail inbox right now with UPS tracking numbers, the sidebar in gmail confirms that google does, in fact, know that there are tracking numbers in the email, but no card

I understand. I just got furious with waiting and being stuck on 4.2, that's all.
They have not done 4.3 yet because they refuse to work on leaked builds. It leads to lots of time between major updates, but their ROMs are always amazingly stable.
I actually had a ton of issues with Viper on my AT&T One X :v:
I understand. I just got furious with waiting and being stuck on 4.2, that's all.
If you ever feel like going back to Sense, Trickdroid is on the latest leaked build and delivers a lot of the customizations that Viper has.
