So I bought my parents a Nexus 7 (2013) and they like it but they keep telling me it's locking up on them. A software update a few weeks back helped a little bit but they still have issues, should I root it and install CM 10.2?
God I hate the staged rollouts so much. Still no update for Drive.
That doesn't happen on any Android I've used. MMS sends fine without data. Perhaps it's a Canadian Network thing?
Yeah, that sounds like the issue. The stupid thing is that they offer plans with free MMS but no data. And then when you turn on data to use MMS, they then charge you ridiculous amounts for using data without a data plan.
MMS requires data. The only way to step around the issue is to get the carrier to block mobile data use.
It shouldn't require data. It should be going through the MMSC.
MMS does not utilize one's own operator maintained data plan to distribute multimedia content. Operator maintained data plans are only used when message included links (if any) are explicitly clicked.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multimedia_Messaging_Service You should be able to configure an APN with just an MMSC, set only as an MMS APN. Then that APN should transfer only MMS and no WAP data. But the way a lot of providers have configured things, it doesn't work. EDIT: one thing I haven't tried is setting up an APN with no type set, but with an invalid HTTP proxy. I don't know whether this would stop all background data though.
God I hate the staged rollouts so much. Still no update for Drive.
Go snatch the APK from AP. [editline]14th September 2013[/editline] It's gorgeous, by the way.
does anyone know of an app or livewallpaper which "reacts" to the song currently playing? I can imagine it'd look fancy on the lockscreen.
Go snatch the APK from AP. [editline]14th September 2013[/editline] It's gorgeous, by the way.
I did that and for some reason half my folders disappeared from the view :/ When I deleted it and got it from the Play Store, they showed up again. No idea wtf happened there. edit: wiped data of the play store version, installed the apk from AP, everything works fine now.
does anyone know of an app or livewallpaper which "reacts" to the song currently playing? I can imagine it'd look fancy on the lockscreen.
Free but just an app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cyphercove.audioglowfs&hl=en Paid, but is a wallpaper: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cyphercove.audioglow&hl=en Last I checked using music players that's not Google Music with Samsung hardware (including the Nexus phones) doesn't not work unless you use bluetooth, some phones show nothing regardless of what's playing your music.
Is it worth getting the CM 10.1.3RC2 on my S3? I dont wanna get 10.2 because i just dont like the way it feels
I want a samsung smartphone with onscreen buttons. Phones with onscreen buttons are pretty attractive imo E: People who disagree with me are saying that the nexus 4 is ugly
I've flashed CarbonROM 4.2.2 on my N7100 Note II but for some reason the Google AOSP Keyboard keeps stopping on me, and everytime it does it breaks the soft buttons as well. Anybody got anything I can try to fix it? I've tried factory resets, fixing permissions and re-flashing the ROM / Gapps and it still does it.
Probably got the wrong version of Gapps
Probably got the wrong version of Gapps
I'm running 4.2.2 so I just pick the one related to 4.2.2 / Cyanogenmod 10.1 on the Goo.im site. I've even tried flashing just the ROM without Gapps and it still does it. [editline]Edit[/editline] I'm gonna download an alternate version of Gapps for 4.2.2 since apparently that worked for a lot of people. [editline]Edit 2:[/editline] Flashed gapps-jb-20130301 and now both the keyboard and com.android.phone keep crashing. Dangit.
What lightweight browsers could you guys recommend? I've got a HTC One and everything from stock, chrome, opera and firefox makes my processor go on max load and makes it capable of cooking eggs(and hands. Typing this is painful.) This has happened on two different devices with stock htc sense and slimbean beta, so i've got no clue what to do [editline]15th September 2013[/editline] I'm losing more battery than i'm charging :v:
Once Samsung builds a big enough ecosystem, they'll fork android and call it Tizen.
Google doesn't permit forking the part of Android that actually makes it Android. It'll be another Linux mobile OS without any apps library instead.
Google doesn't permit forking the part of Android that actually makes it Android. It'll be another Linux mobile OS without any apps library instead.
Amazon Kindle. It's a forked Android. Samsung will do the same if/when their ecosystem gets big enough.
Samsung are backing Tizen along with Intel, they've already got their "backup plan" ready.
I'm looking for some sort of solution to sync the school work on my usb onto my android phone and back it up onto google drive but be able to edit offline, something google drive doesn't allow.
I'm looking for some sort of solution to sync the school work on my usb onto my android phone and back it up onto google drive but be able to edit offline, something google drive doesn't allow.
Ummm... Well, desktop offline apps are a thing now. But beyond that...
It would be a bazillion times easier if my phone had mobile data... And be faster, larger, newer, etc.
4.3 does a lot to help with lag. Also, Leo Laporte says the Moto X would probably be a good phone for iPhone users to go to rather than nexus.
If anything, the One would be the phone for iPhone users, just because it actually has the industrial design and display quality that are at Apple's level.
If anything, the One would be the phone for iPhone users, just because it actually has the industrial design and display quality that are at Apple's level.
Yeah, but the One doesn't feel as good in the hand as the X IMO.
The wonders of android emulation Is mupen64 any better? [sp]screenshot made my screen look bigger that it actually is[/sp]
God I hate the staged rollouts so much. Still no update for Drive.
Did they allow offline editing yet? The wifi overhaul is messing up on my tablet, so taking/getting notes from drive is pretty bad. I do use offline viewer, but it has been a bit weird last time I used it. I also might switch over from my current tablet with surface like keyboard, over to a actual windows surface pro depending on how the new one is priced/specs.
Expanded my budget a bit, now getting the LG Optimus 4X HD. Just noticed that that means I'm gonna use three LG product daily now, the phone and two monitors. I, for one, welcome my new LG overlords.
I, for one, welcome my new LG overlords.
I have an LG washing machine, I have to keep moving it back into it's original spot, and it dings randomly instead of at the end of the wash.
I have an LG washing machine, I have to keep moving it back into it's original spot, and it dings randomly instead of at the end of the wash.
It's hunting you and will kill you in your sleep.
I have an LG washing machine, I have to keep moving it back into it's original spot, and it dings randomly instead of at the end of the wash.
Oh god mine does that too. I swear it's planning an escape. It'll destabilize the ground around it by jumping on it for long enough, then fall through it a few stories down and be free. And then it'll play the victory song.

[sp]screenshot made my screen look bigger that it actually is[/sp]
What emulator is that and what game are you trying to emulate? Mupen64Plus AE and N64oid are the two N64 emulators to get for Android. Honestly though, they both kinda suck. An N64 emulator built from the ground up for Android would be eons better, but no one has bothered doing it yet. Even the DraStic DS emulator runs smoother and better than the N64 emulators.

If it's Super N64, drop that shit :v: It's a spammy piece of crap.
