I would use this. This is a form factor I think a lot of people would use. Asus: ahead of the curve. http://www.androidauthority.com/new-asus-padfone-infinity-late-2013-270228/
So where's the keyboard dock?
There's nothing wrong with a serviceable phone. The older HTC aluminium unibody phones all had removable batteries and SD slots. So fucking good.
Well I'd still like to pay money for a new battery, not for a new battery and replacing costs.
So Wallet is going to be extended to nearly all Android phones after a tiered rollout aka 3 months
fuckin' finally do they still give out that free $10
So where's the keyboard dock?
It's available.
Does anyone here still play that Simpsons Tapped Out game?
I still play it. Somewhat.
I'm running 4.2.2 so I just pick the one related to 4.2.2 / Cyanogenmod 10.1 on the Goo.im site. I've even tried flashing just the ROM without Gapps and it still does it. [editline]Edit[/editline] I'm gonna download an alternate version of Gapps for 4.2.2 since apparently that worked for a lot of people. [editline]Edit 2:[/editline] Flashed gapps-jb-20130301 and now both the keyboard and com.android.phone keep crashing. Dangit.
You probably want 20130812 http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-jb-20130812-signed.zip
CM updater crashing on anyone else here ? At any time i try to download any update the download just stands at 0% and the whole updater crashes when i abort the download. Galaxy S3 running CM 10.1-20130711 experimental MEMCPY You could just download the zip and update via recovery otherwise right ?

Anybody here actually use Wallet? Is it useful?
Anybody here actually use Wallet? Is it useful?
more convenient to use than Paypal, shame it's not as widespread
Something tells me when my battery starts shitting itself I'm gonna be regretting picking a phone with an internal battery
If it's a One, you'll have to get HTC to replace it or you'll have to use a dedicated tool that slowly heats up the plastic ring to deactivate the adhesive. Otherwise, it's really not hard.
Nexus 5C and 5S confirmed: http://www.androidauthority.com/lg-nexus-5-lg-d820-wi-fi-certification-270186/
Anybody here actually use Wallet? Is it useful?
I guess it's useful when using it with Google Checkouts to buy stuff
I really would like to root my GS4 but I'm scared that I will physically damage my phone somehow and not be able to return it cause of voiding the warranty I have. I just really want it for ad blocker and to make it easier to use my ps3 controller on my phone. I'm afraid of breaking my phone while rooting it. Can I root without worry that I will raise the "binary counter" on my phone or if it does, can I lower the binary counter to 0? If I root (just the basics. it adds "superuser" app, right?) it won't (read:shouldn't ) break/brick my phone, right? I don't want to install custom roms, maybe in the future when I feel more adventurous. I dunno. I'd like to root but I don't want to screw up! Can anyone give me some tips? Thanks! :)
It has just occurred to me that I can use the wifi connect function in Tasker to give myself location based wallpapers.
It has just occurred to me that I can use the wifi connect function in Tasker to give myself location based wallpapers.
There's probably an app for that already
Can I root without worry that I will raise the "binary counter" on my phone or if it does, can I lower the binary counter to 0?
You can lower the counter back to 0 by using Triangle Away.
If I root (just the basics. it adds "superuser" app, right?) it won't (read:shouldn't ) break/brick my phone, right?
Yeah, should be fine.
Ok, my Galaxy Nexus decided that it should die after 1,5 years. Repairing will cost me more than a new phone, so I am looking for a replacement. Can anyone recommend me anything good for 300-400$? Preferably HTC or Sony (No Samsung, please, I just don't like them)
Xiaomi and Meizu are good cheap Android phone makers. Oppo also makes good cheap phones.
I forgot to mention that secondhand market is quite strong here, so I am not limited to the new models. I just can't choose a model with at least decent battery life (GNex was quite weak with this)
HTC One.

An HTC before the One isn't likely to be worth much, maybe someone here could point you to some good Sony devices? There's probably no good Motorola's for you..

Sony devices generally always lower in price quickly, could probably snag any 2012 model for under $400, maybe even new though not sure about tax. [editline]18th September 2013[/editline] Battery life on Sony devices from what I've used is decent, I can get a day out of a Xperia ion checking email/facebook/facepunch, texting, and listening to music. Meanwhile my friend using my old Xperia arc can get a few days just texting calls and file readers.

And about One... well, I am thinking about One mini
