Looks like I can't used different sized images, or else this happens.

Lookout will take a photo and send you an email with the photo and location after 3 wrong passcodes.
BBM for Android is up tomorrow morning, anyone going to actually use it?
I know a couple people that are clinging to their BlackBerries, so probably.
I have a Galaxy S2 at the moment. I'm thinking of upgrading to a Galaxy S4 in December. How much bigger is the S4 compared to the S2? I have small hands and I don't know if I'll comfortable using an S4.
I use Prey anti-theft, works pretty well i'd say
A picture of my progress before I hit the sack.

I've held both in my hand, and I'd say the S4 honestly just a teeny bit bigger.
Then again, I could probably hold your entire skull easily with one hand, so it might be different for you.
So that HTC One I bought a while ago gave. The microphone, all of a sudden in the middle of a call, decided to record really quietly and output a watery static sound along with my voice.
Seems like a common issue with the One, though. Guess I'm SOL?
Have you nailed down whether it's a software or hardware issue?
root it
this sounds really funny to australians
this sounds really funny to australians
It is so annoying when you tell somebody that they'd need to root their phone in order to get X. They always just go "ah hur hurr hurr" whenever you say root.
Is there an app that will allow me to swipe down from the top of the screen when full screen like in the Samsung devices?
I've tried restoring the phone with an AT&T RUU, then the GE RUU, and then finally a bunch of custom ROMs through recovery. No dice.
If you look at the top left next to the keyboard icon, that looks like a pie, key lime pie? That could be the debugging icon. They either haven't changed it, or it is actually still Key Lime Pie but they're all fucking with us.
The g+ nexus and android community is overflowing with BBM posts. I'll search refuge here :S
It's not even #Holo, would not use. Just installed to steal myself a blackberry identity in case I need it sometime in the future (yeah right), but WhatsApp 4 lyfe.
I've finished holo-fying the Steam app but it's not compiling any more, I could punch a chinese orphan in the face right now.
[editline]21st September 2013[/editline]
It is done! Should I just dump the download link here or should I PM people with it? I'm no coder so I haven't changed none of that, so I've done the best that I can with their horrible app.

Just dump a link and a screenie, I'm sure the thread would appreciate it.
You must uninstall the official Steam app before installing this version. The horrible notification sound has been replaced.

If there's anything you want changing, just ask, I'll try my best to do it, even if it means dabbling in the code.
Wrote some impressions of iOS 7 down, with relation to Android and where they stand by comparison (so relevant, don't ban me).
Opinions? How do they compare?
Regardless of my opinion on Apple’s mobile devices, I think this is a good move.
The new settings area and gesture-friendly UI make the gap between Android and iOS a little bit slimmer, as Android jumped lightyears ahead of iOS after 4.0 and has been iterating more and more ever since. The new color scheme is a bit annoying, but it isn’t necessarily ugly, because of the overall aesthetic. If the OS still had all the skeuomorphism and gradients of iOS 6 and below, it would be awful, but the new color palate suits the simplified design language well (assuming we all get used to the Joel Schumacher “Batman and Robin” style neon overdose).
There are a few sketchy little things about the OS, as is bound to happen with any major refresh, but the lack of capitalizing on the screen real estate of the tablet makes me wonder if Apple really knows how this OS should feel on larger sized screens. Android had these growing pains too, though, back in the (admittedly dark) days of 3.0 Honeycomb. Another problem is the gestures. Besides being a bit inconsistent in their implementation, I feel like a seasoned iOS user would have trouble discovering them if they had no background in Android (Google freaking loves slide-in dialogues and menus) or other mobile operating systems. Siri still isn’t quite up to par either, as She (and now, He) is still basically a voice search engine, as Apple lacks the component that makes Google Now so effective at what it does. That is, the Knowledge Graph.
Overall, after watching tons video and reviews in preparation for the barrage of questions I expect from family and friends, I think this is probably a good iteration. iOS was starting to show it’s age, especially when shown next to stock Android 4.2 and it’s Holo UI. People just don’t want to use buttons for everything anymore. Gestures are nicer for screen real estate and easier for the one-handed user. The introduction of a Samsung style settings menu is a wonderful decision, and the design refresh is tasteful in all but color palate, but I have a feeling even that will grow on me.
The worst thing about iOS 7? Now the “Android or iOS” question is harder to answer. It really depends even more on the person at this point.
I'm not fond of the new iOS look, but if there's one thing they're getting right it's responsivity and touchscreen latency, even the newest high end Android phones are over double the response time
I am confusion.
I've got a 2012 N7, and while listening to you chaps blathering on about things is entertaining, I mainly have no clue what you're talking about.
So what exactly is rooting, and why should I do it? Similarly, what exactly does installing a custom ROM accomplish?

Rooting is gaining access to the higher level account that takes care of certain things a normal user can't, if you can get access to it then it opens up a lot of options to you.
Custom ROMs will contain a lot of bundled software and features that you may not experience with something else, such as better performance or battery life, extra features like Pie Controls or HALO with Paranoid Android. It's worth taking a look around even if you don't feel like getting any.

I've said this before
If you don't think you need root, then you don't need to root.

I'm gonna try this right now.
I'll check if you can still use the same appdata for both apps since chat logs and settings are stored in there.
[editline]21st September 2013[/editline]
Here to confirm that if you use the same app data, the chat history and settings will still work fine.
Is the Nexus 4 supposed to get hot alot of times?
Mine's been getting hot when charging with it on, i dont think its normal...
The only phone I ever had that was not hot was my blackberry (it never did anything)
Pretty much all smartphones get kinda hot.
My Note 2 probably gets hot but I've got 2mm thick plastic on all sides so I probably don't feel it
Anyone here use the Xposed Framework? If so, how is it?

There are some very nice tweaks available to you, like replacing the huge green battery icon by a circle with a tiny number inside of it (like Cyanogen), as well as removing the loud boot sound
