I had my mom ask Rogers and it seems like getting a new phone will cost about $400 since I'm not up for an upgrade yet. So I'll just get my Note II fixed and stick with it.

We're looking for a $150 used or new verizon capable phone for my brother, what would you recommend? There's a Droid Razr for sale for around $130, is that decent? It's 4G and has Jellybean.

Got a Samsung Galaxy S4 earlier today. Big step up from my (not even a phone) 4th gen iPod touch, which would've been the closest thing to a smartphone I had.

Would've been super happy with a used S3. [editline]4th October 2013[/editline]
I would look for a Razr Maxx (non HD). I'm not going to do any custom roms, I might root to remove shit apps that drain battery life, but no roms. I don't even like doing it to my phones, dealing with someone elses would be hell. [editline]4th October 2013[/editline] idk what phone to get, there's used Razr Maxx's on ebay but I'm afraid they'd be in poor condition

Just vett the seller and don't buy if there aren't pictures. [editline]4th October 2013[/editline] real pics, not google image press shots. [editline]4th October 2013[/editline] And the Maxx is worth it for the battery life alone (and blur is better than touchwiz, but that's all personal preference).
I just picked up a HTC Droid DNA yesterday, anyone else out here have one? Im looking into CM for it, just iike my Fascinate, Thunderbolt, and Galaxy Nexus were. Looking for some input.
At the very least, run a custom Sense ROM for various tweaks that get rid of Verizon's cancer. AOSP ROMs should be out there. [editline]4th October 2013[/editline]
I hereby declare my distrust in titanium backup. I backed up my apps to the default folder, I flashed a new ROM (wiped everything of course). Basically Titanium backup says there are no backups. Bullshit. I go to the settings to change the backup location. It opens the default folder saying "THIS IS THE BACKUP LOCATION". All my backups are in that folder. I can see them right there in the selected folder, but when I go to the "restore" menu, it says there are no backups. Shit app. [editline]4th October 2013[/editline] It's not like the "data" restore worked reliably anyway.
If you made the jump between 4.1.2 and 4.2.2, you need to move everything in /data/media to /data/media/0/. [editline]4th October 2013[/editline]
I like how Samsung is trying to kill itself as the #1 Android phone seller with SIM card restrictions. First the Note 3, now there's reports that they might introduce it for Galaxy S3 and Note 2 with a future update.
I'd like to see Samsung stop completely dominating the everloving crap out of Android, at this point I can see a future where they are the only OEM worth talking about in a few years, almost like Intel in the CPU space.
I just realised that Samsung phones tend to be different from most of the phones in the market, with what having a Menu, Home and Back/Return button, while most phones have Return/Back, Home and some weird button. Not sure if I want to buy that Xperia Z1 anymore. Or maybe it's the 0334 o'clock.
Samsung is technically "wrong" in how they implement the buttons on Android.
What's the "correct" implementation of Android phone buttons?
Back___Home___Switcher No menu, no physical buttons.
You mean like the thing which pops up with Samsung phones after pressing Home for some time? ...the fuck were they smoking?
You mean like the thing which pops up with Samsung phones after pressing Home for some time? ...the fuck were they smoking?
Yep. Menu buttons are totally in-app now and the multitasking/switcher button is whats supposed to be there now. Also, pressing the navigation bar and sliding your finger up replaces the search button and brings up google now.
I vastly prefer the menu button where it is on Samsung phones
The Maxx has a hardware menu button and I haaaaatteee it.
I finally figured out what the plastic on my S3 feels like shower wall
Back___Home___Switcher No menu, no physical buttons.
of all the things they could have replaced a menu button with, they went with the most useless?
of all the things they could have replaced a menu button with, they went with the most useless?
No? I use that button almost more than I use the home button.
Having to use my dad's old HTC Incredible S for a week after my phone broke. I've got to say, having all 4 buttons (home, menu, back and search) is so fucking good. I actually use all the keys.
You know what would make the recent apps button all that more useful? Having it auto-switch to the most recent app you were using, either by holding down on the button or swiping up or to the left from it.
I got a note 3 today, what would be the best for protecting the screen? A glass protector?
I got a note 3 today, what would be the best for protecting the screen? [editline]5th October 2013[/editline] If you want just a basic sticky one, I like zagg. BUT NOTHING OPAQUE! It may feel better to the touch, but it ruins the display quality.
I'm thinking Note 3. Is 250usd the cheapest I can get it on at&t? Also can I root to change the DPI? I can't stand the awful default on the note 1. I'd assume it's bad the 3 too.
If you want a good wet application one, I like the ghost armor I got for my transformer.
This is actually my first smartphone so I don't exactly have any preference to how they go on, I haven't messed with it really so I want to get a protector on it before I get oil ect.
My new S4 i9505 is nearly delivered to my house according to shipment tracking. What things should I check when it arrives before I root/flash it to ensure I don't do anything stupid
