My brother got his iPhone 5s on day one and is already complaining about the home button. [editline]6th October 2013[/editline] He had his iPhone 4 home button replaced four times. I think he has really bad luck though.
What would you recommend me ROM wise for my Galaxy Note USA? As in, NOT the Note II. It was PERFECT out of the box but when the 4.0 update came out it made it stutter and lock up a LOT. I'm running a stripped AT&T Based ROM right now. I already have root and CWMR.
[QUOTE=Hunt3r.j2;42435731]That's not something immediately broken. There's a difference between a design defect and a wear item. By that definition, Samsung ships a defective screen with every AMOLED phone because the display is a wear item that will be unusuable within 3-5 years. [editline]6th October 2013[/editline] If you expected AMOLED to be better than LCD at this point in its development, I have a bridge to sell you.[/QUOTE] Same with batteries. Anyway, I agree whole heartedly. The Super IPS+ LCD on my Transformer Infinity kicks the shit out of just about any other screen I've seen. [editline]6th October 2013[/editline] And I've never personally deen or heard the iPhone home button complaint made.
[QUOTE=garychencool;42434402]you can turn it off in the settings[/QUOTE] I did once I pulled my car over to dismiss the message. I still think it's dumb that it's still active in the navigation mode, a mode designed for being used in a car.

Not sure if you guys have seen this, but I found it quite funny. [video=youtube;pZ7RwGRLwK0]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZ7RwGRLwK0[/video]

What's the model number?
Well, finally got into the Aviate beta. Looks fantastic except for the fact that it has NO LANDSCAPE MODE AUUUUUGH. If it did, I'd actually be able to use it.
I said the American one, so it's gonna be the SGH-i717.
Well, you said not the Note II, and considering there are 3 Galaxy Notes that are phones and 3 that are tablets, I wasn't sure. It looks like there is a CM 10.1.3 (4.2) stable build for it. I see an AOKP Milestone on XDA, nothing that I can see for paranoid android... Those are the big 3 AOSP ROMs. Based on your question, I assume you're after an AOSP ROM, correct? [editline]7th October 2013[/editline] Anyone flashed the most recent 10.2 nightlies? If so, how stable are they?
It must suck being American and having all your phone models fucked. In Australia, we get original versions of every phone. Such good ROM support.
[QUOTE=K1ngo64;42440000]It must suck being American and having all your phone models fucked. In Australia, we get original versions of every phone. Such good ROM support.[/QUOTE] It's because of the asshole government supporting the fucking TELCO monopolies and, thus, allowing them to distort the market with exclusive OEM deals, weird pricing, and other horseshit. Don't get me fucking started. [editline]7th October 2013[/editline] Flashing the most recent 10.2 nightly. I'm gnawing on my cuticles with nervousness. [editline]7th October 2013[/editline] Upgrading... looks good :) [editline]7th October 2013[/editline] Installed Focal, broke the world, uninstalled Focal, rebooted, world fixed...

They've been there for so long, I can't remember when they were implemented. I'm fairly sure it was Ice Cream Sandwich.
i'm fairly sure it wasn't ice cream sandwich because they weren't there when i was making timers last month
[QUOTE=lavacano;42440310]i'm fairly sure it wasn't ice cream sandwich because they weren't there when i was making timers last month[/QUOTE] I'm pretty sure it wasn't because ICS doesn't have a timer I had to flash the JB clock apk to get them :v:
Oh shit. In CM, I went to Developer options, launch tools, media provider then I pressed "insert 20 albums" and now I have a shit ton of random not working music in my library. Anybody know where these are? [editline]7th October 2013[/editline] According to multiple file managers, the songs aren't on my phone.
those are the 20 albums you just told it to insert
No shit. I'm just wondering where in the world they are. [editline]7th October 2013[/editline] I've given up and restarted my phone
All people around me already have their second or third smartphone and here I am with my Glaxy i9000 at Android 4.3 perfectly working. Also don't you guys feel a least a little bit guilty when getting new tech devices?
[QUOTE=Sir Whoopsalot;42435453]You'd expect a 700 dollar phone not to have little build quality annoyances like that though.[/QUOTE] not when it has samsung written on it

I'm still really happy with it.

I have no idea what's going on, but since the microphone is half-broken anyway I'll just get a new phone rather soon.
So my Nexus 4 doesn't charge anymore. It's not the charger, it's not the cord, it's the phone. I need a new phone. I am going out to get a Galaxy S4 today from an actual provider but I want don't want all the provider bullshit on the phone. How can I get Android on whatever Galaxy S4 I'm going to buy (I think it's going to end up being with Verizon) like is it on my Nexus 4 ("pure")?

You could also flash an AOSP based ROM and get a near-stock experience with enhancements.
[QUOTE=MaxOfS2D;42442684]you can get a google play edition galaxy s4 (or flash the google play edition rom onto the correct S4 model)[/QUOTE] I would love that, that would be the simple solution, it really would, but my parents don't wanna buy a phone for $650. [del]I don't even think it would pay itself back in less than two years using the T-Mobile $30/mo plan like the Nexus 4 would. I haven't done the math.[/del] It would.
You're gonna end up flashing a ROM then. Either the real AOSP ROM or an AOSP based one.
