Same here, I used it, got tired of it too easily. It promised Google Now-like features, bringing things to you at the right time, all it does is look at the clock, see if it's night or night and give you the apps you set for day and night.
Oddly enough my GNex fell from my lap a couple weeks ago and the only thing that doesn't work on it is the cell connection. I gave it to my dad who uses it as a media player at work because his Blackberry has too small of a screen for stuff like that. I tried fixing it but ended up replacing it with a GE HTC One.
In a few of the threads I read on other forums people were suspecting the Gnex of having problems with the cell connection hardware. One guy said he sent his into Samsung and they replaced his motherboard which fixed it, but that was under warranty or else he would have had to pay $200. These posts were from 2012 though, so yeah, not worth buying parts for at this point. It's still a nice phone though, and at least it has Google Music to stream instead of sending files.
Whatsapp is down.
For all of those with the Neo Hybrid S4 case, be careful. This happened to me randomly:

I got the red replacement and I'm kind of glad it broke because it looks even better:

I've heard they don't protect the phone that much
What is the cheapest and best tablet for productivity right now? The N7 is just a tad too small, even if it has amazing specs.
A last-gen Asus transformer I guess

For productivity, asus transformer infinity. I use one for school.
But there is a more important question. What do you need to do, specifically?

My phone fell on pavement when I was skateboarding down some stairs. My case was fine and my phone didn't obtain any damage. I have dropped it a few other times. The break actually came from me taking off the case a lot. The top part broke and the bottom part didn't stand a chance without top support.

No doubt it has that weak spot, but otherwise I have nothing bad to say about the case.

Pretty much general text editing and information scouring.

Asus TF700+Keyboard Dock. Download Google Drive and Quickoffice. Boom.

If you want any really deep text software, you'll be better off getting a chromebook or something. But I take notes and write short papers on my tablet. Real research projects (generally anything longer than 5 pages that requires a works cited page) I do on the computer because of formatting constraints on the tablet.

At first I thought it was boring, but then I came back and it's actually pretty fun for when I'm on the shitter or stuck at the laundromat for an hour and a half.
Pixel Dungeon is master race game to play on the toilet.
-SNIP-, I fucked up my phone and spent hours just trying to get clockwork recovery onto it, fixed by flashing the stock firmware through odin, all back to normal now and even kept my settings. Anyone else aware of the bug where the latest CWM will give your GS2 a black screen on start-up? It cost me like 4 hours trying to fix it without deleting my data.

I'm switching from a Xperia Tablet S with surface like keyboard case to a laptop of some sort, because essay work gets really limited really quick. I can write essays and find info, but simply isn't fast enough for me. Finding a cheap laptop is a better idea for school use.

A cheap laptop is generally a bad idea. A better plan is a chromebook or buying a laptop that's enterprise grade. "Cheap" is not likely to be functional for too long. Unless you get "cheap" as in enterprise grade from last year and on clearance.
[editline]15th October 2013[/editline]
For me, buying a laptop implies an expectation of having it for a while. I see it as a bigger purchase.
You could be like me and get an ultrabook for $120
Deal of the century :v:

I don't think black magic is available to everyone.
Before I was able to afford my Vaio Pro 13, I got a cheap Dell Latitude E4300 and threw in an SSD. It was a great machine, though you couldn't do any OpenGL on it in Windows 8 since the GMA 4500MHD doesn't have good driver support in 8. However, besides that it was perfect for school. The keyboard was excellent, it got about 5-6 hours of battery life and weighed less than many of the cheap laptops out there.
If Dell remade that with Haswell and IPS, I'd be very interested.
asus is annoying me
they released the padfone 2, padfone infinity and the new padfone infinity all in just under a year. my wallet is screaming at me for wanting the new padfone infinity. :v:

Knowing Asus' build quality, neither will a Transformer, mine's a few months old and the charger port is already fucked, and this is my second one as the first tablet was faulty, not connecting to the dock
Plus, a TF700 is a lot more expensive than a cheap laptop (At least it is here), which would be thousands of times better for word processing

This happened to me.
Can't get a phone upgrade till August 2014. My S3 is killing me. Oh god.
So my Nexus 7 turned off while watching a YouTube video without any ceremony and without warning seemingly randomly. There was plenty of charge left in the battery, at least more than half. I can't get the screen to turn on now. I've been charging it for an hour now and it refuses to respond to any input. The screen won't even turn on to let me know it's charging. It's like my tablet bricked itself. Any ideas?

This is my second hardware failure in a week that I'm pretty sure I've had nothing to do with. First my computer's PSU, secondly my tablet. I hope my phone survives or otherwise I'm fucked.
Need a good camera replacement app that can save to my external SD. The one in CM10.2 is very lacking, and i can spend up to about treefiddy

thought I was alone about the general build quality of Asus' handheld products. my padfone has been in 3-4 times over the past half year without any messing about with ROM's and so on.

thinking of replacing my current phone with the LG G2. any thoughts about that phone? not sure what exactly it was, but I recall reading about LG being horrible with software or horrible with something, but I'm not sure what it was or if it's even correct.
why does it have to be so hard to find normal ringtones? Everything on zedge is like I stepped into the worst karaoke bar ever with some weird dude shouting into his $1 microphone.
I want something just like this, but without the background noise (filtering it out doesn't work very well)

I found the iPhone ringtones and downloaded those, personally.
[editline]16th October 2013[/editline]
In pretty sure their old-fashioned bell ringtone is the only one of its kind.
I'm using a couple of the iOS7 alert tones (I'm sorry, Matias) and I really like them, but the call ringtones are no good to me.
I have this as my ringtone, but my phone is always on vibrate (It's either in my pocket at uni or on my desk) anyway.
Looked for a feature list in Sense 5.5, they still not added a "close all" button in the multitasking menu? Is there a reason for that? It's stupid IMO to just swipe all the apps away til there are none left
And also something akin of a "jump to start" button in the apps menu would be neat too. That concludes my nitpicking from using sense 5.
