so is BlueStacks any good? I'm downloading it right now (I got it from bluestacks.com for reference) to use for a FFXIV authenticator, but I might end up using it for other random assorted stuff
I will never understand the faith people put in Samsung's design and build. They haven't released a well built phone since the S2.

I dunno. My Galaxy Nexus doesn't feel that cheap.
The phones are usually durable but they just feel glossy.
You know what else is cheap? Soft touch plastic. And it does not feel slimy. The Droid Incredible felt amazing to hold.
It finally happened. My Nexus 4 has battle scars. Managed to drop it multiple times this week thanks to various coughing fits, the back survived every single one, but the bottom plastic now has a small dent from the case that was meant to protect it digging in. It lasted just over a month I think.
Still enjoying the phone mind, not hard to do when you've come off a worn 3GS :v: Though does anyone else with one have slight heat issues when browsing Facepunch on it? It seems to be the only thing that causes the phone to heat up noticeably strangely.

You guys should use more lube, if you're transmitting friction over the internet we have a problem.
I didn't believe you guys when you said samsung backs were cheap. Then I got a hold of my brothers S4.
Its not even a month old and is already split in half with tons of dents on it. My S2 back is still pristine. Seriously when you pay $500+ for a phone, you would think they would put more effort into the back plate design/material.
The back on my Note 2 is fine, but I also keep my phone in a case.
Otterbox is the only way to go.
Anyone here using BBM, find that it drains the battery somewhat?
I use hangouts to talk to my buddy who's stationed in Seoul and another buddy who doesn't get reception in his house. Otherwise I use nothing but SMS and the occasional message on facebook. BBM seems utterly pointless to me and honestly I've never even heard of it til now.

That's why I went with the LG G2, the HTC One is just a scratch magnet and the S4 is just cheaply made. While the G2's back isn't much better it's just a far better phone for a better price even.
I'm still kinda leaning towards the Note 3, but I'm getting a UAG case if I get it. My brother's S4 UAG case just arrived and it looks fucking spiffy.

The One's back is pretty scratch resistant in my experience. Metal is generally harder to scratch than plastic. The only difference is the appearance of scratches.
I'm considering the Blue Best Buy 32 GB HTC One to replace my Note 2 instead of getting the AT&T Note 2 to replace my Verizon one.

Make sure you're okay with the screen size. Otherwise the One is pretty nice. Doesn't have Snapdragon 800 though.

My Desire Z has scratches and scuffs all over it and while the aluminium is incredibly beautiful, I would end up covering it all up in a case. I looked at some used One's on Swappa and they were all beat to shit. The hardware and battery life is far better with the G2 and the back buttons are exactly the quirky and unique things I like to see in a flagship phone that sets it apart like aluminum does for the HTC One.

All phones look like crap if you put wear on them without a case.
Honestly my HTC G2/Desire Z with it's rubberized casing absorbed damage very well but the aluminum finishes got scraped up horribly. I wanted a phone I could have a screen protector on and later down the road I can just replace the backing after I've retired the case. This LG G2 does perfectly on top of having a 32gb internal, 3000mah battery(that sadly isn't replaceable) and OIS which I desperately need since I have shaky hands.

In all likelihood that was a soft alloy. The One has an incredible stiff one in my experience.

Highly recommend glass screen protector then.

32GB internal is normal for phones without microSD these days. The battery is replaceable as capacity drops over time.
Probably, it was also clearcoated. I just found the bezel/edges on the One to be too damage prone, I also wasn't sure on the smaller battery than the S4 while not being replaceable.
I've got a Invisible Shield on order currently which I've used on every device I've owned since my 2nd gen iPod touch, if I'm not happy with it I'll definitely be looking into one.
Well 32gb is going to be normal for this next gen of phone but walk into T-Mobile and this is the only phone AFAIK. The Nexus 4 was only offered in 8gb/16gb, I'd probably say 16gb is going to be about standard from now.
my S4's updating

Was gonna buy one for my phone, but never got around to ordering one. All the stores around here only carry them for iPhones.
I just discovered deal extreme sells $50 android phones. I'm tempted to get a couple and use them for telemetry of some sort.
I don't know, strap one to my car and see what the acceleration charts look like after a day.
Is there any way I can control playback/volume ect on my mp3 player through bluetooth on my phone? Both are android and I know jackshit about how bluetooth works.
I haven't used a case on my HTC One in months and the back still looks brand new. Of course, I never let it slide around on any surfaces. Even the Beats logo is pristine. The aluminum edges on the front, on the other hand, have somehow gotten slightly dinged up but it's only visible in sunlight.
I had a case that I bought when I bought my phone, haven't seen it in months. :v:

Seriously my black HTC one has metal colored spots on the back even though it's been in the case since the beginning. It fell out of its case once, which caused some of these spots, but others are completely new.

It's simple. All they need to do is double the thickness and give it a rubberised coating similar to the GNex. Main reason why it feels so flimsy and crap is because it is super thin. Frankly I don't give a shit about the hyperglaze, only thing it does is make fingerprints more prominent which aren't an issue to me.
So this is something I've only recently noticed since I go to college downtown now, but why do people do this shit?
And by this shit I mean walk around with the phone on speaker and call people. It looks so unbelievably stupid and impractical
