Looks like the reason why that Hangout apk is crashing is because it's searching out for specific CPU binaries in the logs, made for the Nexus5
4.4 confirmed for GPe in two weeks, 4 weeks for Dev Edition/US unlocked. 3 months for carriers.
I have the eu unlocked version, does that mean I have to wait a year? :v:

I also don't like battery life on 4.3. I unplugged it in the evening, went to sleep, it was at 45% in the morning. wtf
Any idea how long until custom ROMs are updated to 4.4? Cyanogen in particular

I don't have this problem at all. My battery is amazing.
Life is so much easier after I learned to just plug everything into a charger before falling unconscious onto the bed.
Don't really have to worry about the battery life of my devices.
Managed to get my order in, don't think anyone will be home to receive it though :(
I had a nightmare last night that my nexus 4 split in half somehow. Yet when I put my case in it worked but for some reason it was my cousin's phone...
My Nexus 5 was slated to be shipped on the 8th since I got in fairly late, just got my email saying it's been shipped.
So,apparently PA team made a 4.4 ROM, gonna flash it and post some links and a pic soon.
So, as i promised, here's a link to the ROM: http://www.paranoidandroid.co/roms/mako/
It is an pure AOSP build, so you will need to flash the GApps (Also on site).
Incase you couldnt download it via the official site, you can grab it via those mirrors:

And heres a screen of my N4 running it:

Also, the APK with the google phone icon didnt came with it, so if you want it, you will need to download GoogleDialer.apk from somewhere... Now i just need to figure how to root my phone on 4.4

My poor HTC One has been tortured many times in my dreams.

Pretty shit :v:
Pretty shit :v:
Might get better after a month...
I bet this is the point where 4.4 comes out and the Tmobile G1 ends up running it like a fucking dream :v:
It did run as a HTC Dream for awhile ;)
I'm loving the bitching about the Galaxy Nexus getting its support dropped.
The portion of the company that made the CPU for the damn thing no longer exists, it's amazing it got updates this far.
Hangouts SMS is so fucking amazing, way better than the stock messaging app only problem is that mms's arent sending properly but everything else is just great
People actually unironically still use MMS?
Everywhere I go, MMS is absolute horse shit. I went back to the stock TouchWiz ROM on my phone because anything that isn't Samsung's messaging app reliably failed to send MMS and when it did, it was shittily compressed to 300kb, even though I know it supports up to 1MB.
I remember using MMS back when GPRS was a thing, and people still knew the term UMTS.
But now with smartphones, and everyone having 5 different chat services that have picture support, like Hangouts...
The only widespread service is the only one that's universal on iPhones. Say what you want about Apple, but they know how to actually roll shit out.
People actually unironically still use MMS?
I use it all the time? What
I stopped using MMS years ago when you had to set it up on every phone and it costs a bomb, and phones that don't have it properly set up either get a link to a website or just don't receive it at all. It's terrible
how can i order the n5 when in estonia
Google might be hurting themselves by having a "fuck you" attitude toward Verizon.
Personally, I say fuck Verizon too, but the way it's being covered in the media is... negative.
The implication of the media coverage is that Google actually put CDMA radios in a Nexus device, and there's still no verizon support. Reading between the lines, the general atttitude is that Google is "keeping" Nexus from verizon in a spiteful way.
Google is trying to protect their brand from the fuckers at verizon who would trash the fuck out of a Nexus device. But the mainstream media doesn't see that.

And I recognize the "other projects in 2014" thing. That means nothing.
It could be a Nexus 10 refresh with Verizon LTE radios or more Motorola devices.
The "other projects" thing was a cop out that really isn't fooling anyone.
