The Nexus 5 is such an upgrade from ye ol' gingerbread desire hd. Loving it.
Oh goodness 2 more "In transit"s from Alexandria have appeared on the tracking, making 6 today
6th times the charm.
Go with a screen you like. The only screens that are close to being calibrated to proper colors are Apple displays. Find something that stands out to you and go for it. Me, I'd pick battery life over screen shit any day. Or anything else. Just love your phone for what it is and you'll be happy. (unless you have a potato.)
If you're a professional photographer and you're going to be doing work that requires that much color accuracy on the smartphone you probably fucked up your priorities somewhere along the line. Most people go on Facebook and post shitty camera phone shots and read black text on a white background anyway so people having ceaseless arguments about color accuracy on their phone is just about the most inane thing I could imagine, especially when they can be discussing important things such as the orientation of toilet paper on the roll or which side the tag on a pillow should go in a pillowcase. [editline]5th November 2013[/editline] I think pixel density and readability in sunlight are much more important aspects of a screen than color reproduction. Shit could be greyscale for all I care as long as I can read the damn thing.

Once you disable that, both are very well calibrated.
I think the notification LED on my nexus 5 is broke, i've yet to see it flash once and the lightflow test thing doesnt work. Anything I can do to test this?
Anything I can do to test this?
Is it ticked on in the settings? Under Display, Pulse Notification Light
The LG G2 is excellent, I wouldn't trade it for a GS4 if you paid me. Battery life is about 36 hours with regular use or 2 days which is just about a first with a flagship android phone. Camera is amazing and the daytime focus is by far the best, far better than the GS4 in every way. The Stock ROM was so good that I almost didn't want to put PA on it, however 4.2.2 is painful and Light Flow didn't work with it and being able to customize DPI everywhere is by far the best feature ever. With the huge screen it allows the real estate for the on-screen buttons without cramping the screen. 32gb is perfect for non-removable storage and I haven't once wanted to use a sdcard that's 5x slower at read/write and 2-4x smaller. The Snapdragon 800 is unphasable and the only time it slowed down at all was when snapchat glitched the camera control and ramped everything to hell draining 15% of the battery in an hour. I absolutely love knock knock and the rear buttons, after a week of using this phone it's almost painful to use something else.
Oh my god yes, I love my LG G2. I love the on screen buttons so much more than a physical button, 32GB is plenty of space for me, and I find the stock software pretty good (with NovaLauncher though). Snapchat definitely has some issues with the camera but that's not really the phone's fault, it's plenty powerful. Knock knock is goddamn amazing.
Seems that Nexus 5 will cost $610 in Latvia. :suicide: If I do decide to buy it, I'll probably import it from the UK or something.
Is it just me or Skype for Android is being really stupid where if you leave the app, the notification stays there saying you're online even though you're not connected to anything and when you do open the app, it will often require you to log in again?

It's shit. I now only use it for emergencies, last time I logged in was months ago.
[thumb]http://i.minus.com/ibs849G8SNOg8f.JPG[/thumb] Now my potato is a little bit better
oh goody, my sim doesn't even support lte guess i'll have to go into the att store and ask for a lte sim without them realizing its for a unlocked device
Do US carriers restrict their service that much that they wont give you a replacement SIM card if your phone is unlocked? I found it weird enough that they limit tethering and charge extra for it, probably because here in the UK they hand out SIM cards like there's no tomorrow and it's pretty much anything goes as long as you pay them for your contract.
Is it ticked on in the settings? Under Display, Pulse Notification Light
Shit yea it was, my bad. Thanks anyway.
It feels just great to see people on 4.4 and you just sitting there with 4.2.2 in the corner.
My friends decided to pull my screen protector off for shit and giggles. Now the screen feels smooth as butter and the phone looks slightly better (because there isn't a screen protector on it).
It feels just great to see people on 4.4 and you just sitting there with 4.2.2 in the corner.
Oh quit whining, I'm still using a Desire Z
It feels just great to see people on 4.4 and you just sitting there with 4.2.2 in the corner.
I downgraded from 4.3 to 4.1 because it wasn't very stable. But I don't really miss any features.
I'm still amazed that my i9100 is running 4.3.1,and it's stable, and fast.
And I'm still on my potato
Take a guess of what this means I'm doing
the steam app just needs a total redesign and rewrite
Today is the last day that I'll have to use this piece of shit: [t]http://cdn-static.cnet.co.uk/i/product_media/40000816/image1/440x330-chacha-main.jpg[/t] It has been a good 2 years, it's been through a lot - it has a hefty dent in the metal plate on the back from when I fell of my bike... it has several scratches, a chip in one corner from when I threw it at a wall because Twitter crashed, and the Q key falls off if you hold the phone facing downwards. Also since sticking 4.1 on it the battery life is around 4 hours. Goodbye HTC Status, hello Nexus 5.
I threw it at a wall because Twitter crashed
what
what
it's really durable, I fell off my motorbike at around 50mph and it flew out of my pocket and was found around 30 feet away from where I landed and worked perfectly fine
I once got my phone (Desire Z) out my pocket as I urgently needed to photograph my friend because somebody drew a penis on his head, and in my haste I slammed half of it on the underside of a metal table, causing it to flip in to the air and land face down on some concrete floor, not even a scratch
Oh man, that dedicated Facebook button...
So, apparently the "Duarte" page on Wikipedia listed a whole bunch of useless irrelevant people (José Napoleón Duarte, President of El Salvador?? Who the fuck cares?) but no mention of Our Lord and Saviour Matias. Rest assured I've remedied the terrible situation and spread the Word of HoloYolo.
With all the visual changes since Honeycomb can we really still call it Holo?
Christ, some moron on XDA posted about a random binary commit by TI from November 2012, yelling "OMG TI UPDATED BINARIES GOOGLE IS BASTARDS", then every shitty Android news site reposted it as the truth, and now /r/Android is caught in a perpetual circlejerk since they don't actually understand how Android works.
