I quite like a minimalistic homescreen but something feels missing from this... Any suggestions? [t]http://i.imgur.com/ffLFIcK.jpg[/t]
I fear the day when someone posts a full resolution image of a 4k phone homescreen.
I don't have a problem with VM, but I can see your point with their customer services. I live in the UK and I was switching over to a VM SIM but wanted to keep my number, when I rang I was put onto an American women, I asked for the number to be transferred and she seemed confused. She done god knows what on her computer then I had to repeat that I needed to give her a code to transfer my number. She eventually got it, I felt sorry for her though, it sounded like it was her first day and she kept saying "sorry for the wait" every 10 seconds. I'll take that over a call centre in India any day though.
Same problem here, got some American dude first and he has done god knows what to my old number [seems to have deactivated the sim] then I re rang and got an indian women or american, not quite sure due to the line being so bad and she said that I needed to order a new sim card with the number I want transferred which I did earlier on in the week but the women in the VM store didn't order me one, as she said it would be next day delivery but it has been 4 days, in the end I just ordered a new sim 2 days ago and I'm just using that now. So in the end I just thought fuck it and changed mobile number.. way to much faffing about for something so simple.
Virgin carry the Nexus 5? When I looked it wasn't available. I'm on Vodafone instead now. I had the same customer support issues, in the end I too just stuck with the new number... problems were just as bad on Vodafones part as they were on the Virgin end though. They refused to give me my account number until my first bill had come through, meaning I could only swap my phone numbers over in a months time. Not worth the hassle. What I did find pretty amazing, though, was when I cancelled my old contract with Virgin they offered me a SIM-only deal with Unlimited texts, calls, 1GB of internet for £2.50 a month. I think next time I'm having phone issues I'm going to threaten to cancel my contract if they go down to deals like that so effortlessly.
I think it's now mandatory for providers to let you keep your current number. Last few times I switched provider they had a nice little promt on the website asking for current provider and phone number, and they'd sort it out for me.

I mean the Nexus 5 is Sim free which means any network can use it (as far as I'm aware). Its kinda bad that these companies use foreign people.. I'd rather they be open 9-5 or something and speak to other English people (like carphone warehouse) then them have you be able to contact them 24/7.. cause at the end of the day it gives them a bad reputation and it would save on so much frustration for the consumer.

Apparently the 4.3 (Yes samsung is shit) update for the Galaxy S3 started rolling out in the UK 2 days ago. Still have nothing...
Hello Nexus 5
Whoa, Telstra's 4G speeds seem pretty appalling, Cconsidering on Optus 4G I get about 60-100Mbit. Then again, Telstra does have better coverage.
Based on the reviews, lot's of people mad.
I'm one of those people, I couldn't care about the color change, and I'll never use the emoticons, but why the fuck did they change the layout? It's a pain in the arse typing punctuation because they removed the long press. [editline]8th November 2013[/editline] Not to forget they're was no need for this change except for "lol we're Google, let's change shit for the hell of it"

Wait, holy shit they removed the long press keymarks. That's retarded, I'm just going back to my AOSP keyboard.
Yeah there was no need to remove long press. Just makes things more difficult and slower.
I knew 4G was faster, but I had no idea it was by that much. It's got the same speed as my Fiber optic connection at home, and puts my upload speed to shame.
I get 10 megabits on a good day on the 4G connection here Then again I'm in a town of less than 10k in the middle of nowhere
5-15 MB in the Dakota's on Verizon LTE. More than plenty for most purposes and beats the pants off EVDO.
5-15 MB in the Dakota's on Verizon LTE. More than plenty for most purposes and beats the pants off EVDO.
Does your speed vary throughout the day like mine does? I've seen it push 30 in the middle of the night, and drop as low as .5 in the middle of the day. (Becoming near useless)
