Facebook is Facebook, they have enough info on you. Google is better and less ridiculous
Ooh, the Android Facebook Messenger app has been updated on 4.4. Now I can get my SMS through it instead of using Hangouts. Hmm, I can't decide: should I let Google look at all of my text messages or would I prefer Facebook to do it?
Ive had the option to use Facebook for my SMS for months now. Probably one of their staged rollouts.
Man I'm so hyped for Tizen its gonna be great hah also, cyanogenmod auto installer thing released today (check their site), anyone used it yet?
I flashed back to stock to give it a try, worked as it should. [editline]13th November 2013[/editline]
Ohhhhh, yeah. Pre-installed Gaps plus Samsung apps plus Touchwiz in general. And then there's carrier bloat.
I flashed the stock samsung ROM yesterday, fucking 900Mb ROM size, holy shit. Cyanogenmod has nothing on that with it's measly 200-300~Mb.

Shouldn't the answer be obvious?
I am actually tempted to start using it, does anyone else? How is it? It's got a nice look to it and I love the chat heads. How well does it work with people that I don't have on Facebook though?
I hate chat heads...
I wish I could rate agree more than once. Chatheads are laggy, ugly, and freaking annoying.
They were a laggy mess on my old phone but work pretty well on later phones
I hate chat heads...
I don't mind chatheads but the recent update where notifications go "popKCHING!!!!!" was developed by hitler I can't even disable it permanently, it just gives me the ability to turn it off for 6 hours. Why??
I stopped using the Facebook messenger when I realized that no one chats with me on it and I can just go on the mobile site of Facebook.
is there a big chance that porting ROMs will end up bricking your device or not work?
I stopped using the Facebook messenger when I realized that no one chats with me on it and I can just go on the mobile site of Facebook.
I've got a handful of friends who pull the "I'm not registering an account for ANOTHER chat app" excuse
I've got a handful of friends who pull the "I'm not registering an account for ANOTHER chat app" excuse
Same here... Fuck WhatsApp Fuck Viber Fuck Hangouts ~Friends [editline]13th November 2013[/editline] Facebook or nothing.
out of my other three project members working on a uni project with me, only one has a smartphone, and he doesn't likes using whatsapp. I've been using mms to group chat with them (even though they never even respond), turns out one of the guys' phones can't even receive mms. Fucking hell. [editline]13th November 2013[/editline] Also I tried BBM. I don't have any contacts but it kept crashing in the background so I removed it before adding a single person.
The Moto G looks pretty neat for the price. It's no Nexus 5 killer but for a budget phone it could be a winner.
I don't get it why in the new fb message update I can all of the sudden see all sorts of people's numbers. Like I don't have them in my contacts why do their numbers show up when I click on contact info?
How good is the new Nexus 5? Is it better than Nexus 4 ?
Am i the only one who are still mad at google for releasing KitKat OTAs for N7 and 10 first and then for N4?
The G2 has two days of battery life, way better cameras, IR remote, bigger screen and rear facing buttons. It's a better looking device really. You also have the option of having the stock LG rom which is surprisingly good. They've got the remote working on AOSP roms and the stock camera app just ported over yesterday, I honestly can't think of a single phone I would trade it for. The only thing at all I would change would be to add wireless charging(fuck u banana and your verizion).
Sounds pretty good. Is the bootloader unlocked and is there any really bad proprietary hardware that would make custom ROMs extremely different to get down the line? I'm really hating my SGSII's Exynos for making me leave AOSP behind because nothing except Samsung's ROMs is even semi-stable on it.
Am i the only one who are still mad at google for releasing KitKat OTAs for N7 and 10 first and then for N4?
Not the only one. It feels like the Nexus line is slowly going downhill :(
I wish I could rate agree more than once. Chatheads are laggy, ugly, and freaking annoying.
They are buttery smooth on my ancient SGSII. Annoying and ugly are subjective, so I can't say more than "I disagree" there.
At least chat heads have use on Android. Makes no fucking sense on iOS as they only appear inside the app, and on the small screen it's just covering up important space
I stopped using the Facebook messenger when I realized that no one chats with me on it and I can just go on the mobile site of Facebook.
I stopped using it when I stopped using Facebook.
I don't often hear of the iOS version of a program being the afterthought in coding, especially for huge things like facebook
The app isn't great on iOS, it's really slow at starting up. On the iPhone 5 it takes a few seconds, which doesn't sound like much but it really is. On my friends iPhone 3GS it's like it's rebooting the operating system when you're opening Facebook. I'm pretty sure the web version responds faster, and almost looks exactly the same
I stopped using it when I stopped using Facebook.
I would as well, but all student party things and stuff is there. It's like they've never heard of BBS or something.

Ever since BBM came out, it's like the most used messaging that my (school) friends and I (on my end of course). SMS is rarely used. Then there is whats app which is with just one person (to save on limited SMS). Then there is Hangouts with a different, single person. When there's Skype which I only use for like conference calls with friends. Steam chat is in between Hangouts and Skype, I only chat with a few people and it's not very often anymore.
Mmm, cyanogenmod is delicious. ROM after ROM of buggy kernels, sudden death syndrome and odd quirks made me forget the fact that everything just works right away in cyanogenmod even if there are a few minor things that are weird with it (like the lockscreen configuration) [editline]13th November 2013[/editline] Well, aside from burning up my phone when browser's open for whatever reason.
is there a big chance that porting ROMs will end up bricking your device or not work?
You can't really hard-brick any modern device by installing a bad ROM, unless you do something stupid like S-OFF on an HTC.
