What's with the settings button on 4.3 (One) taking up space, I don't remember it at all on 4.2.2
You can't really hard-brick any modern device by installing a bad ROM, unless you do something stupid like S-OFF on an HTC.
Won't necessarily brick it with S-OFF. S-OFF just means you can flash some otherwise protected features like the bootloader. On my old HTC, S-OFF was the only way to flash custom ROMs period. S-ON exploits didn't exist because there was no point.
Sounds pretty good. Is the bootloader unlocked and is there any really bad proprietary hardware that would make custom ROMs extremely different to get down the line? I'm really hating my SGSII's Exynos for making me leave AOSP behind because nothing except Samsung's ROMs is even semi-stable on it.
Bootloader isn't AFIAK but by release you could use loki'd recoveries or whatever the proper terms are. Supposedly the 4.4 update that will be coming by the end of the year may include SELinux and make stuff a lot harder but they won't ship with that. I'd assume the "next-gen" of phones will probably have this stuff too but out of the box, that leaves the G2 in a interesting exploitable position being as good as the next flagships. Either way, everything works flawlessly outside a non-matured development community which is still trying to hammer all the maintainers for some reason. QuickRemote, the IR remote app and the IR functionality has been ported over and the stock camera app is just starting to be. I flashed the very first PA built from Houstonn for my D801(T-Mobile) and it's worked nothing but flawlessly and actually fixed a couple issues I was getting from the stock rom. Knock On works way better than stock but Knock Off hasn't been modified into any roms yet so you just use Apex/Nova and Gestures with it.
Damn it. Updated cyanogenmod up to the latest nightly and it fucked my phone up. My keyboard stopped working, my dialer said it wasn't installed any more, etc. Tried reflashing my gapps and cyanogenmod, and rolling it back go the previous update but it didn't fix it.
I became tired of Apples bullshitting so last week I ordered a Galaxy S3 and it arrived 2 days ago. Loving it so far, best phone-switch I've ever done. Only issue I have is the battery life is a bit horrid, but I figure after a few recharge cycles that'll sort itself out. And the best part is even if it DOESN'T sort itself out, I can just get a new battery! Ah, freedom. [editline]14th November 2013[/editline] Oh, and I might invest in a Tab 3! It caught my eye in a store. Pretty cheap consider you get a lot of good stuff in it.

What the fuck, there's no Tejat tone in the latest N5 port of 4.4 for the N4. 2/10 ROM for no Tejat. [T]http://gyazo.com/5d83b0a15e6e7c4eb599a2206cedb10a.png[/T] [editline]14th November 2013[/editline] And Themos has a new name [T]http://gyazo.com/376ed42fb7c4e09b43ff7eb6b0143d41.png [/t] 1/10 now.
The moto g looks pretty good for the money.
Tejat goodness for those who want it https://db.tt/iAKdIj0O
Finally got the 4.3 and Sense 5.5 update on my One a few days ago, but does anyone know what the icon on the right to the GPS is for? [t]http://i.imgur.com/zVIJKcj.jpg[/t]
NFC. Giant pain in the dick. [editline]13th November 2013[/editline]
You can't really hard-brick any modern device by installing a bad ROM, unless you do something stupid like S-OFF on an HTC.
You can totally hard-brick any Samsung device without a locked bootloader, just write junk data to the SBL/PBL.
Tejat goodness for those who want it https://db.tt/iAKdIj0O
Tejat is the only notification sound I use
I use Tejat on my Nexus 7 and Lalande on my GNex. Love them both equally.
Just got an HTC One. What are some must-gets for it? And how the fuck do I get rid of this BlinkFeed shit?
Anyone know when 4.3 will be out again, seeing how it was pulled like 2 days ago?
A few days ago, CM said that it had to update on my Nexus 4. It should only be showing me stable releases, so I got it an installed it and found that snapchat wouldn't launch, so I uninstalled it. I went on the play store and tried to redownload it and the store said I had no connection, despite it being connected to the internet. I had a physiology exam yesterday so I forgot about it because I could still use the phone as a phone. This morning though, I googled it and found some stuff about the clock apparently causing it, which sounded like BS but I tried it and nothing. I also tried clearing my google accounts, and settings crashed when I tried to re add them. I tried reinstalling the play store app and that didn't work either. I thought fuck it, I'll try revert to the previous CM, so I went to settings and clicked on the button and it rebooted, and now my phone is stuck on the spinning Cyanogen mod logo thing that happens when you reboot the phone. Holding down the power button to turn it off just reboots it. I let it sit for an hour while I drove around and its definitely stuck. I can reboot into recovery but I don't know what I should do with that. I got CM because i wanted to be able to customise the toggles on the drop down menu thing, is there a way I can return the phone to stock and still be able to do that? The phone is still sitting here spinning, and it's getting really hot, I'm worried somethings going to get damaged.
If you flash a stable build of cyanogenmod how hard is it to switch to a milestone build (and vise versa) do you need to go through the whole flashing process again or can you just update
welp u broke it time to flash the factory 4.3 image! in other news, i use the spirit ringtone from blackberry6 (best known as the ringtone of frank underwood in house of cards) https://db.tt/kagrTh5N
I use the Ubuntu Phone ringtones but can't find them again
Just got an HTC One. What are some must-gets for it? And how the fuck do I get rid of this BlinkFeed shit?
Sense 5.5 has the toggle to turn off BlinkFeed.

Also try wiping /data and /cache and see if it will boot.
You can still copy files (like a new ROM) in recovery using the "adb push" command on your computer. How do I clear those folders?
Just got an HTC One. What are some must-gets for it? And how the fuck do I get rid of this BlinkFeed shit?
Get the Developer unlock, get a custom recovery, and install ViperOne ROM. Now.
Get the Developer unlock, get a custom recovery, and install ViperOne ROM. Now.
Why should I choose this over the stock ROM or Cyanogen? [editline]13th November 2013[/editline] Oh and I've never installed a custom ROM before, so I'm gonna need a tutorial for whatever ROM I decide on.
I did it ages ago and I don't remember anything I did. What rom should I get if i want to return to stock? How do I clear those folders?
In the recovery boot menu, you should see an option to wipe those partition. You did install a recovery partition like Clockworkmod when you got Cyanogen? Right? However, you want to go back to 100% factory stock, that won't be important. You will need to get one of the official Google Nexus images here. https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images There are instructions on how to flash it. But in a nutshell, you need to extract the tar.gz files until you get to the lowest level which has the bootloader, ROM img files and such. Copy those to wherever you have fastboot installed on your machine. Then run flash-all.bat (or flash-all.sh if you are on OSX/Linux). It will basically repartition, reformat, and factory reset everything.

The GEL still doesn't work with my RAZR HD, even after the newest Search update (which is fucking huge and awesome).
I use Bean from the stock LG G2 rom, I used to use Castor but it just sounds too distorted coming from this phone. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5601782/Bean.ogg I use Thermos as my ringtone though.
Hey guys ever since LinkedIn bought out Pulse I've been looking for a proper good looking RSS reader. Taptu doesn't really fit the style I like and that's the closest reader I've seen design-wise to Pulse. Any suggestions?
